... a rarity last night! I got to stay home - Logan, Ohio - as the home town Logan Chieftains played a Southeast District team, their 2nd SEO team in the young season , losing to past SEOAL league member Warren @ the Warrior Coliseum to open the season 44-62... the Chiefs play only 5 total SEOhio teams during the season ... after last night's win, Logan stands at 1-1 vs the SE district ...

...Sheridan entered this one undermanned as the Generals were missing 2 starters - Logan Russell & Tyce Whiteman ... entering Jim's Gym, down their top 2 scorers - an up hill battle for Sheridan ... Sheridan on the game had balanced scoring! as 7 of the 8 players seeing the floor put up points - just not enough points - 33- as Logan's outstanding 6-2 soph Hudson Edwards ALMOST beat the Generals on his own ball, the sophomore put up 31 points on the night ... scoring at all 3 levels Edwards drained 4 three pointers, 3 buckets finishing in transition, a pair of drives to the rim to go with 3 fgs in the paint on floaters around the block ... Edwards 31 Sheridan 33 in the game within the GAME ... Logan 53 Sheridan 33 a final in THE GAME ...

... the GAME was actually relatively close in the opening 2 qtrs ... as Sheridan's 6-2 jr Colin Mallarnee put up 5 pts in the 1st qtr - low on the blocks for 2pts and a 3pter from the top of the key ... sr. Jacob Holman added a putback bucket 2pts ...Sheridan put up ALL of its first quarter points in the opening 3:03 of the game leading 7-0 at 4:57 on the game clock ... Logan shutdown the Generals the final almost 5 minutes of clock with a 12-0 run ... for Logan, Edwards showed his whole repertoire early as the super sophomore took a strip, steal & score to the house for 2pts/drove baseline for 2 at the rim and drained Logan's 2nd trey of the quarter right before the buzzer 3pts (Owen Hughes opened the game for Logan with a deep three from the wing 3pts) ... the only other scoring for LHS was 2pts in the paint for 6-3 sr Owen Bell ... Logan 12 Sheridan 7 after 1 ... Quarter number 2 had both teams playing close as Sheridan picked up a point overall on the Purple & White ... scoring for SHS - sophomore Brody Berrera came in off the Generals bench to net 4pts in the paint ... Mallarnee added a bucket down low on the blocks 2pts and sr. Owen Cains chipped in 4/4 from the FT line ... Logan's Hudson Edwards added to his game total with a pair of buckets around the rim 4 pts , Bell added his second bucket in the lane 2pts and off the Logan bench 5-7 jr Kris Morgan pitched in 3 pts ( 2pts on a pullup jumper in the paint & 1/2 from the line) ... Logan 21 Sheridan 17 at intermission ... when you are missing even 1 starter - it's tough to have consistent scoring, missing 2 starters it's almost impossible , you're going to have stretches when the opponent takes away what you are doing offensively and the rotations on the defensive end aren't there ... coming out of the locker room, the 3rd quarter was all Chieftains as the Purple & White put the ball in Hudson Edwards' hands, the 6-2 soph knows what to do with the basketball as Edwards put up 11 pts ( a score at the rim & one 3pts, a pair of deep triples 6pts and an interception of an SHS pass finishing in a transition bucket) ... the sophomore outscored the Generals 11-4 in the period ... LHS got points from 6-0 jr Daniel Bowers - draining a triple to start the LHS barrage of points in the qtr ... 5 pts from Bell and a bucket in the paint by Hughes ... the Logan 21 pt quarter put the game away , giving the Chiefs a 21 point cushion going into the 4th ... Logan 42 Sheridan 21 after 3 ... Sheridan down 2 starters had no bullets left in the gun so to speak going into the final period down 21 ... the Generals had their best scoring quarter putting up 12 in the 4th (a pair of three points from soph. Graham Anderson 6pts/ 5-11 jr Tucker Shonk added his first points of the game 2pts in the lane & 2/4 from the FT line, Brody Berrera added 2pts down low to close out the Sheridan evening ... Logan was led by Edwards' 9 pts in the period as the sophomore was going toe to toe with the SHS team on the scoreboard - 2 buckets on the blocks 4pts/a coast to coast transition bucket 2pts and his 4th 3 pointer of the evening 3pts ... Daniel Bowers picked up the only other Logan fg in the period 2pts ... Logan struggling vs the big boys in the OCC picked up win #2 on the season, the Purple's 2nd W in a row at home after beating Central Crossing Saturday evening for their first win of the season ... Logan 53 Sheridan 33 a final ...

Nice win for Logan! I know Sheridan was down a couple of starters, but still nice to see for the Chieftans

I’ve heard good things about Hudson Edwards as well

I heard Russell is out for the year and Whiteman is questionable with an illness.
