South Point 66 over Portsmouth 54

Post by osumufan »

Looks like this might be the first game in the new gym. Right now that is what is in the works but it might not happen until Friday! I think the Pointers will win this one although we survived a scare from River Valley tonight.

I don't make predictions on games, but I will say that Portsmouth is coming off its best performance of the season BY FAR in winning 92-60 at Jackson. Even without leading scorer and rebounder Anthony Williams, the kids have nicely picked up the slack and have responded with 2 convincing wins this past week.

I have never seen Todd Mayo play, and am looking forward to watching him. I am also anxious to see South Point's new high school; I remember watching quite a few games in the old SPHS.

GO TROJANS!!!

I was in south point to see our jr high team play last week, in the old jr high gym.

I sure hope they are getting a new place to play also.

now back to the game.

if the trojans play like they did agaist jackson, this should be a good game.

I also look forward to seeing Mayo play.

and congrats on the new schools

It's right beside the Highway Patrol on Sand Road which you can see from 52. If you are coming from Chesapeake take the Solida Road Exit turn right then immediate left on Sand Road go about a mile and it is on your right. From Ironton on 52 turn left at the light onto Delta lane then an immediate right on Sand Road it is about 3/4 of a mile on your left.

The gyms for middle and high school are around back. But as of right now there is very little parking around back. I guess it got too cold to pave the rest of the parking. So you will probably have to park around front and walk around. Which stinks in this cold weather. There will also be a middle school game the same night. So the parking should be pretty crowded the middle school game starts at 5:30. The high school gym was better than I first thought. It does need a little bit more paint in the keys and center circle. The middle school gym only has 4 rows of bleachers on each side so the crowd will definitely be right on top of the kids. The refs may not like that part! ;-) Anyway Good Luck to the Pointers and the first real dunk will go to Quay Logan in the reserve game!

Good game all the way around - it got a little "mouthy" towards the end, but a good effort by the Trojans. VERY PROUD OF MY POINTERS!!!!!
