Logan began the game 12-0.......for the next 27 minutes Jackson had them by about 4 and Logan closed it out VERY late.

It was about an 8 point game for much of the time.

For Jackson Dylan Newsome had to have a double double as he had around 13 points and had to have double digit rebounds. Big Merlin played good when he was in and had about 9 points with some boards and blocks. Dobbins had about 13 and Buescher played well with about 8.

... wheeeew!!! this one was at 48-44 at the 3:19 mark of the 4th quarter ... Logan with the apparently acceptable 20+ TOs per game , throw in the poor perimeter on the ball defense, poor decisions (ie. fouling on a 45 ft . 3 point attempt, fouling WITH the lead to stop the clock when the game was in doubt the last 2 minutes), 20/38 from the foul line showing a lack of mental toughness/focus, out rebounded by the 2-12 Ironmen ... out hustled by the Ironmen - IHS diving on the floor after balls even in the last 30 seconds down 12+ points ... adds up to a Logan 64 Jackson 49 final...

... the Logan radio stated that Logan was looking ahead to Tuesday's game with Zanesville at the Katie ... also suggested that Zanesville's 57 point win earlier in the season wasn't the real Logan team ... Tuesday was going to be a much different game ... the Logan players get it to 8-5 ... 4 home games in 7 days beginning with Tuesday night's game ... should be 11-6 coming out the other end of the home stand ...

Merlin likely would have played the last 4 minutes and reached double figures in scoring had he not achieved a career first. He fouled out for the first time ever. Merlin and Andy didn't start last night (neither is 100%). Like any struggling team, when we needed to make a play, we didn't. I saw improved play all the way around just not enough to get the "W". Josh Brown played well in an expanded role, although he fouled out a minute after Merlin did.

Logan hit 4 threes right off the bat and we never could make it up. Josh missed 2 wide open threes, Morgan missed several open threes and Merlin missed an 8 foot jump shot, all shots they normally make and all seemingly as we were making a move. Good defense overall but we still gane up several crucial layups. These things happen when you are struggling. I hope the kids can pull themselves together and get back in the win column tonight at Wellston.

I was very proud of the effort and still believe they can pull it together and finish strong.

Merlin's 3rd foul was a complete non-call I thought.....from a mere 80 ft away.

I did not understand when Buescher hurt his ankle and had to come out why they put Landrum (who hadn't played the entire game) and Dylan Newsome was on the bench???....and then came in after the following turnover?

I don't go for the Logan was looking ahead to Zanesville. If that's the case they don't jump out 12-0...after that Jackson played the best overall defense I've seen them play thus far. From the 5:00 of the 1st qtr until the 3:00 mark of the 4th qtr and both teams playing their main players entirely....Jackson beat them in that stretch, and for Jackson that is SIGNIFICANT.

If Jackson can turn that 26-27 minutes stretch into a 32 minute stretch...they can beat some teams the rest of the way....whether they are looking ahead of not.

Gonna have to disagree with you Ironman. Logan played probably one of their worst game last night. Almost as bad as the bloom carrol game. Logan came into the game thinkng it was gonna be an easy game. They were all joking around in the locker room and not getting mentally focused. Logan came out shooting well in the first three minutes but Logan still got the win. Hopefully Logan puts up a better game tuesday against Zanesville.
