WAY TO GO FIGHTING TIGERS - a great start to the season to beat a strong Fairland team which was the last team to beat us in the Tournament. Ball handling a little sloppy, but it's their 1st game. Strong contributions from a very deep bench. Good game to the Dragons who were in it all the way.
CONGRATS TO THE IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS

Hatfield led Fairland with 20-some. Easy to do when you take as many shots as he did. Some of the shots he took were absolutely ridiculous. Being a senior, you would think he would learn to take care of the ball, but he is still a turnover machine. He's not a team player...backyard player yes....team player no.

Remember who knocked Ironton out of the Tournament at the Convo last spring! Ironton had an 11 point lead at one point then Fairland came back, but Ironton found a way to hang on and close the deal. On the post-game show Coach LaFon, while expressing disappointment with the turnovers and many missed shots, said that last year's team would have "found a way to lose this game", but these guys found a way to hang in there for the win.
BTW - Jason announced that the cancelled game with Ashland KY has been rescheduled for January 24.

I wasn't paying close attention to the stats, but I think they said Dustin Green had 19 for the Tiger high.

FHS played very hard tonight but they came up a little short. I think Lafon is a great coach but IMO they are trying to make Lamb a post player and that is not what he does best. He is a wing player who likes to shoot the three. Ironton has some very good athletes and are pretty deep. I would not be surprised to see these two teams play in the post season. Good luck to the tigers and of course GO GREEN!!!!!!

If he didn't take those shots, they are not in that game. He is a HECK of a ball player !! They have a GOOD team !! Ironton will get better. Lamb had a rough nite. I would not have wished to be in his shoes. The clutch free throws at the end showed he can handle his own. Good Luck to both, They should have good seasons !! Hope they meet at the Convo again !!

Its was a great game, lamb was pretty much shut down by a smaller player..
hatfield should have taken over in the final minutes like he did early in the game

Good game from the Tigers...I was a little worried there in the second half when Fairland was out rebounding/hustling us and we had our two better rebounders on the bench(Mike and Jon), one of them didn't even play in the 4th, but we found a way to get the "W".

I would like to congratulate Fairland on a hard fought game. You boys never seemed to give up.

Secondly, I would like to say - Michael Lamb I wish we could have you back and I was very disappointed on how are student section seemed to hackle you. Keep your head up Michael and play like we Fairland fans know you can.
Keep playing hard Dragons!!!!!

Good luck Michael in you season @ Ironton!!!!

Repairman that is to be expected when you play againist the school you used to play for,I have seen that happen lots of times over the years when a transfer comes back to his old school! Its usually just some razzing and nothing more!I think Mike might have been pressing a bit to have a big game last night as well considering the circumstance! But he will have his down the road and it is very likely these 2 teams could play again in Athens!Anyway good luck to Ironton the rest of the year and hopefully we will see you guys in the district!Green kid for Ironton is a tremendous player BTW! ;-)

If Lafon would stick with the five (Best) players on the floor Ironton wins by 15... Keep the subs on the bench until you get in foul trouble

Nobody gets tired during a game? Ironton gets the ball up and down the court. I am sure subbing will give a few players a breather. How about you watch the game and let the coach coach!!
