Wheelersburg
Haven't seen any talk on here about the Burg. Anyone know what they are going to have? I know they lost McBee but who else do they have on the team?
Re: Wheelersburg
They will have E. Miller (soph), D. Miller (soph), Massie (jr), and maybe Moore (jr) back from last year's team along with a couple of senior football players who I hear are returning to basketball this year. The remainder of the varsity roster will be more sophomores and maybe a freshman. Overall a very young team, but Coach Barrick will have a good group of quick athletes to work with, but not much size.

Re: Wheelersburg
Burg WILL compete and shock a few people with there Win /Loss record come season end.. Barrick gets the most out of his teams year end and year out.. !!!
Re: Wheelersburg
Here is the roster from the school website. As I mentioned, not much size, but a lot of speed and a great group of kids. I agree, Barrick will get the most out of this team and they may pull a couple upsets along the way.

Re: Wheelersburg
Just wondering if anyone knows how the Pirates are shaping up this year? I know they're young , hope they can find shooter or two.
Re: Wheelersburg
Has anyone seen anything of the Burg this early season? I know they are very young and not much size. I hope they can up with a shooter or two, they haven't any for awhile.

Re: Wheelersburg
Good to see Alex Shears playing this season. I have heard that is a very good ballplayer. That should help them quite a bit. I look for Barrick to get 13 to 15 wins out of this group. He is a master at getting 110% out of his players.
Re: Wheelersburg
For what Coach Barrick has done over the years he has to be the least appreciated coach in the area. I agree that he will still get 13-15 wins this year, especially with Shears now playing. When was the last time he played basketball?
Re: Wheelersburg
I believe he played as a freshman?JayBruce wrote:For what Coach Barrick has done over the years he has to be the least appreciated coach in the area. I agree that he will still get 13-15 wins this year, especially with Shears now playing. When was the last time he played basketball?

The Burg scrimmaged Coal Grove and it was a good little game i was there and my opinion was that Coal Grove out played them and through 4 qtrs beat em by 6-8 points.

I was at the Burg vs Coal Grove scrimmage and Coal Grove outplayed them and won through 4 qtrs
Re: Wheelersburg
barrick will have to really play "barrick ball". with no height they will really have to defend and limit posessions of the opponent. never underestimate barrick. his teams get better by the game.
