Warren @ Ironton, 12/22

Post by WHSwarrior »

Ironton comes in having beaten Chillicothe, but will have played a good game in the Ironton Classic the night before

Warriors just lost to Portsmouth, never played in the Classic.

Two teams that are supposed to contend for the SEOAL title...should be a good game at the Conley Center Tuesday night!

... with this game being played "within" the Classic "tourney" setup - is this game an SEOAL league game or will these 2 teams play 2 more times on top of Tuesday's game ? ...

According to the Ironton Tribune, pfloyd, it will double as a Classic game AND one of their SEOAL matchups. I doubt Warren really wants to drive to Ironton TWICE lol

That they are.

Can you blame them? Oak Hill Academy, Princeton, and Africentric? Good teams make for good games.

I was at the classic tonight and saw Coach Maddox doing some scouting of the Tigers in their game against Africentric. There were some good teams and players there tonight. However, please don't use Africentric in one of those statements. They are probably the worst team i have seen in awhile who is suppose to be good. I think Ironton was up 30 plus at one time and could have been more. Africentric may not be able to win a game in the SEOAL or any other conference in Southern Ohio.

On The Sidelines, you are definitely right.Africentric was one of the worst teams I've seen..Ironton played well and taking nothing from them, but wow the Nubians will have a long season...I sat with the Warren coaches and they have a unique scouting system...I think they will be prepared...this should be a good game..This team will be a much better coached team than Africentric..I can promise that..Just my opinion

Sorry, I can't devote enough attention to do full play-by-play tonight.
Close back-and-forth game. Ironton with a slim lead but Warren playing strong.
2:14 to play in the 2nd qtr - Ironton up 24 - 18
1:08 - 26 - 20 - Ironton
0:15 - 30 - 21 - Ironton - HALF TIME

Ironton up by 13 - 54 - 41 in the 4th qtr - 6:37 left

5:28 - Ironton up 59 - 48

2:22 - Ironton 62 - Warren 51

1:00 - 68- 57 - Ironton

GAME OVER - IRONTON 70 - WARREN 57

Congrats to Ironton...What a well-coached team. Very disciplined and a treat to watch. Great ball pressure all night and patience. Hopefully the Warriors learned how much work they have to do to compete...Its def gonna take alot of work but I know that most of the kids have heart, and will try. Hopefully the coaches will make the adjustments to get us where we need to be. We are def struggling on the offensive end and relying way to much on the outside game. Think we might have to give our younger kids more Varsity time to get this train going. If everyone is a Team player then this shouldnt be an issue. I credit our boys for playing hard but looks like we still are along ways off. Makes me wonder when we had those early scrimmages that maybe we should have been using them as a building block, and not just a time filler. So Good Luck Warriors and cant wait to see how we bounce back with hopefully different results and (offense). :? The sun comes out tmrw.
