Obviously, I am a Trojan fan, but I think the top seeds at Jackson right now will be........

#1......Oak Hill
#2......Ironton
#3......Chesapeake
#4......South Point
#5......Valley
#6......Portsmouth
#7......I thought Wheelersburg but they have to start winning some games

I project the Trojans to be somewhere around 13-5 or 12-6 when the draw comes out.......games vs. Logan and Northwest are after the draw. I think the best the Trojans can do right now is a #5 seed. Portsmouth plays Chesapeake the night before the draw.

The Jackson sectional is every bit as tough as the Waverly sectional was last year.

I haven't seen Oak Hill, Chesapeake, or Valley, but I can attest that Ironton will be a rugged foe for anyone in their bracket......the Fighting Tigers absolutely bring it on the defensive end.

Unless Ironton wins out they will be no higher than 3rd. The SOC and the OVC will be the top 2 seeds. Always happens. It doesnt matter, ya got to beat a bunch of good teams. Ironton was seeded below Chesapeake last year in a travesty drawing. Ironton beats Peake by 20 without their best player and they are seeded below them? Come on man.

I know what you mean 85 the seeding can be a joke. I look for the Fairland to get hosed in their draw this year as the TVC schools will most likely stick together. IMO the TVC is weak and I wouldn't care if we played any of them.

trojandave - based upon 11 teams in the Jackson sectional, the 3 seed and the 6 seed will have to play a sectional matchup to get to the Athens district. With 5 SOC teams, 4 OVC teams, and 2 SEOAL teams, I look for the OVC and SOC guys to try to matchup Ironton and Portsmouth in this 3/6 sectional showdown. Ironton and Portsmouth will be badly outvoted at the seedings, and it is a fair assumption that none of the OVC or SOC teams will want to have to contend with the Tigers or the Trojans in their respective roads to Athens. I'm just sayin.

Actually, because 4 teams advance to the District; the #6 seed will play #11 seed with the winner playing #2 seed. The #3 seed would play the winner of #7 & #9. The top 5 seeds would get a 1st round bye.

I didn't realize that the #6 vs. #11 winner would play the #2 winner.......I thought they would play the #3 seed......thanks for the info, Jimmy the Greek.

I kind of feel the same way Pembrook Burrows feels......that Ironton and Portsmouth could very well matchup in the sectional........it is very possible that Ironton could end up #2 and Portsmouth #6........I think the rest of the schools will feel that if they play each other, they won't have to play both of them later on.

In 2006 and 2007, Portsmouth had to play #1 seed Wheelersburg in the Rock Hill sectional, in 2009, the Trojans had to play #1 seed and undefeated North Adams (lost in OT 77-75), and the possibility exists that PHS would have to play Ironton this year........we just can't seem to get a friendly draw in the sectional.

If Ironton and Portsmouth matched up in the sectional, it would be a travesty. Of course it wouldnt be the first travesty in sectional drawings. Both Ironton and Portsmouth are Top 5 teams in this sectional. i personally think they are 2 and 3 and that could be interchangeable. Im not sure Oak Hill is better than either one of them.
