Week # 8 brought no upsets, and the standings stay more or less intact, with Manchester rising a notch or so.

This week the Greyhounds (9-6, 3-5) have a week to rest up before facing Fairfield (7-5, 5-2). Fairfield is playing their third one-game week in a row, so they should be PLENTY rested for the game. The last time these two met the Lions came out on top of the Dogs, 64-58. You got to love any game where Cox and Blevins go toe to toe.

Eastern (10-2, 6-0) faces Ripley (8-4, 5-2) on Friday, a game Ripley must win if they want to stay in the league championship hunt. Last time they met the Warriors came out on top by 12, but Ripley's improved, winning 7 out of nine since that contest. Give the Blue Jays props for a tough schedule; they play a 12-0 Bethel-Tate team on Tuesday, and lost to Georgetown and Peebles by a combined 4 points.

I've not seen Fayetteville play this year, but they've kept t close against some good teams, and might be better than their 3-7 record (1-5 SHL). The Rockets go up against Batavia (2-10) before facing Peebles (11-0, 6-0 SHL) on Friday.

The Indians are coming off a hard-fought contest against South Point, and are looking to keep it rolling. They face the Whiteoak Wildcats (6-7, 3-4) on Tuesday. Whiteoak's looking to rebound from a poor performance against Manchester, and they're not a team the first-place Indians can take for granted if they want to keep their string alive.

West Union (1-9, 0-6) is having a rough season, and they're the only team without an SHL win. After facing Eastern, they have a Wednesday makeup game against North Adams (2-10, 1-5). The Devils know something about struggling, but they beat Manchester and a state-ranked Southern team this season, so they can surprise you. This game could determine who owns the basement of the SHL.

Lynchburg (3-8, 2-3) could pick up a couple much-needed SHL wins this week as they face the Devils and the Dragons.

 Thanks, they put a lot of hard work into improving their game. South Point is also a very talented and well put together team, im sure they will give peake fits in their battles for an OVC championship.

sparky, you are right. I shorted them a win from the Brown county tournament consolation. The c103 page I got the score from was a bit vague, and I must have been confused. I also attributed one more league game to them than I should. And I also forgot to update Lynchburg's last loss. Thanks for keeping me honest.

Fayetteville Schedule, as far as I know:

Blanchester, W (62-58)
Williamsburg, L (40-36)
*Lynchburg-Clay, L (62-57)
Georgetown, L (54-51) BCT
Western, W (59-56) BCT
*Peebles, L (65-55)
*Whiteoak, L (46-38)
*Fairfield, L (60-45)
*West Union, W (63-56)
*Ripley, L (52-45)

I thought the saying was "Be like Mike" not look and act like Johnny! Funny funny stuff. At first glance, I wondered if Johnny's son was coaching at Peebles too.
