Tre practiced last night and looked good.......he should be ready to go on Friday.......Tre and Dion McKinley together will be a real force down low for the Trojans. Hopefully this will be the game that PHS starts to put together a strong run toward the tournament.

That's a lights out starting 5 with Forrest Johnson, Tory Horne, Wayne Evans, Dion Mckinley, and Tre Underwood. On any given night any of those 5 could be our best player. Add that with our depth because of these additions and this team could be something special. Now, compare that starting 5 to any of the past 19 years or so and I think this one matches up with any, take your pick.

1991: Eric Miller, Brian Kelly, Damond Mannon, Phil Whitehead, Todd Skaggs......also on the team TJ White, Michael Parker, Mike Estep, Jay White, Matt Apel

1994: Brian Bowen, Torrance Jordan, Darnell Lisath, Shawn Visor, Brent Strickland.......also on the team Chris White, Jerry Jackson, Stefan Greene

1999: Josh Bratchett, RJ Cameron, Maurice Clark, Ray Robinson, Jeremy Greene......also on the team Jonah Booker, Joe Greene, Seth Taylor

2001: Larry Berry, Greg McKinley, DJ Carter, Jason Fleming, RK Thurman......also on the team Gerald Froe, JoJo Parker, Jeremy Hamrick, Antonio Malone, Bradley Parker

So starting with Jackson, if we stay healthy and if we keep buying into Geno's system, I look for a great run into the tournament. Mark these words. Of course I'll leave myself an out. If...if...if...If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. lol

Does anyone know if Jackson area radio has a computer web stream? I am sure that Mix 99.3 will stay local and only webcast a Scioto county game.
So any information is appreciated.

As far as I know, Jackson radio cannot be heard online.

Good luck to the Ironmen. Hope to see them get back in the win column and above .500.

It's getting near make or break for the Ironmen.

Will we lose by 35 or keep it a tight game won in the 4th qtr by the better team?

Portsmouth pulled away about midway through the 3rd...won by about 15 or so

Jackson came out and drilled 7 3's in the first 10 minutes but allowed Portsmouth 5 points in the final few moments of the half to close it to 4. Jackson couldn't hit a 3 after Dobbins busted his elbow on a layup try and foul. Portsmouth played very well withstanding the barrage of 3's and then just opened it up and soon as we starting missing 3's in the 2nd half...Jackson just could not get back fast enough and Portsmouth got back to contest everything. The Portsmouth kids really played hard and have each time I've seen them. With their 3 quick guards and 2 big guys and with that court demeanor I witnessed......they could go very far in D3.

Newsome had 12 for Jackson and Horne led Portsmouth with 23 I think.....Evans and Johnson played well along with Underwood and Dion. I'll really be surprised if they don't make the regionals in D3....or at least the way they play versus us.

Portsmouth freshman team didn't arrive until 5:10 and it was way behind all evening with 2 kid's games during the halftimes and a Sweetheart ceremony at the other half.

Varsity game was pretty quick.

Trojans indeed won
73-57
outscoring the Ironmen 43-23 in the second half.
Leading the way for the Trojans was Tory Horne 23 points
Dion McKinley 19 points
Forrest Johnson 11 or 13
Wayne Evans 11

second half Jackson cooled from behind the arc and the Trojans perimeter D played tighter. Then Portsmouth turned it into a track meet. Great W Trojans.

He played.....had some foul trouble...but seemed to me like he played a good bit. Forrest was out a good bit, but he wasn't needed to do what he did in Portsmouth versus Jackson

the diffrence in all the 3,s Jackson was the change of defense by coach Collins, we came out in the second half in a man D,and finaly got up in the face of jackson shooters...in the firts half, we let them just stand out there and shoot uncontested shots from beyond the 3 point line.

great adjustment by the Portsmouth coaches.
