Re: Alexander at Athens 2/2
What would you prefer him to say?
"We're scared to death of our next opponent. I wish they weren't on our schedule."
It's not like Athens is a juggernaut. I mean they are a good team, but VC took them to the limit and Alexander went into double OT with VC...I look for a great game with a great atmosphere.

I thought I read somewhere that someone from Athens said they cant wait to play Warren and LE in the tourny. They said something about finally playing some decent teams. ![Question :?:](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)

Re: Alexander at Athens 2/2
Boy those two responses were surprising. Some of you guys have broken records.
The Bulldogs can ill afford a letdown in this one. Would make Alexander's season to get the upset. If the Bulldogs hold serve, than the magic number will be 1 for the tie, 2 for the outright.
ps- I am pretty sure Athens got VC's best effort of the year.

Now that you say that I think it was at least two of them that said it. Not sure if both are clowns or not. But I do remember them saying "size doesnt matter."

Oh well then I must tell you that I was not one of those that said those things. I think they have played some decent teams already, and I think size of school does matter. Contrary to what the clowns that said otherwise. Why did you edit your post by the way?

Tonight is the night. Going to be a great game, both schools will bring a great crowd. Love to see an atmosphere again like the VC game @ Athens. I think the Bulldogs have too much momentum for the Spartans.
Bulldogs by at least 5.
Go Dogs!

That wasn't the exact quote.
Coach Gabriel said "We are looking forward to the Athens game."
You have a chance to upset the number 1 team in the league. Of course you are going to be looking forward to it...

Bulldogs stave off comeback by Alex to win 50-47. Nice crowd, nice atmosphere. Time to get ready for Nelsonville-York.

Re: Alexander at Athens 2/2
Athens led by as many as twelve and survived a ferocious comeback attempt by the Spartans, but the Bulldogs prevailed 50-47 in McAfee Gymnasium tonight...Frank Valentour (17 points) led Athens' offensive attack, while Zach Bobo's 18 points weren't enough to propel Alexander's upset bid...Athens is still two games ahead of second-place Vinton County with three league games left to play for the 'Dogs.

I knew this one was going to be close. Alex won't lay down for any one. Good job Bulldogs!
