a lot of times a team has a low defensive avg. because they play a ball control offense which reduces the number of possessions. a combination of pts per game and opp fg% is a more accurate measure.

What about Oak Hill? They seem to play some good defense but I don't have any stats.

Oak Hill is giving up 36 ppg. Although they play a deliberate style of game, their defense is smothering.

Wellston - has very little size but they have pretty good athletes - one of the best d teams around - play their butts off and are very fundamental.

We also have complete tallys of all layups made in warmups going back to 1947, half court shooting %, and most cups of water fetched in a period of 5 mins(13, dont think it will ever be broke). :-D

Sparky have you ever thought about therapy. I think you want to be a peebles fan so bad you just can't stand it. Just let it go and leave peebles fans alone.

The three best that I have seen are...
1)L.E.
2)Chilli
3)Ironton

I'm sure there are lots of other good teams but those are the best three that I have seen personally this year.

I agree with Datchillicav on the top 3 teams on defense......although I might just put Ironton #1 on the list.......and I have seen all 3 teams play.

I also agree with sparky........your opponents' field goal percentage is more relevant to a team's defensive prowess........slowing the ball down on offense and then saying your team gave up only 40 points is not necessarily a truism of how they played D.

Agree TrojanDave. Many schools that are winning 40-28 have a really low points scored against stat (whatever that stat is called by coaches???). Anyhow, that may not be the best indicator.

I read on here that Eastern Pike is close to breaking the schools defensive record for points scored. I don't know what that number is for them. But, for a team that plays uptempo, their defense is very good and probably the reason for all their success this season.
