Eastern Pike-2010-2011

With all the topics already started for other teams, I think the defending SOC1 Champion Eastern Eagles deserve a little chatter!

This team lost a ton to graduation! I think the best shooters (McVey and Lawhorn), best rebounders (Wheeler and Montgomery), best defensive players (McVey was one of the best I've seen) and solid role player (Selbee) will be very difficult to replace.

Anyone know how the JV team did last season? Who is moving up that will contribute? To have a good year, the young players will have to work hard in the offseason to develop their games IMHO.

Best of luck to the Eagles next season!

They will definitely have some holes to patch. The Lands boy will be a great guard and had some playing time last year as a Freshman....which will be a plus.

I am not sure what they have coming up from the JV or any possible Freshman that can contribute.

I just hope the basketball team has a better record than the baseball team!

Coach Fitch will have his boys ready. Thorsberry will mature even more which only makes him better as a leader and ball player.

I think Eastern will have a decent year but I don't see them winning soc again but they will have a solid season and I think off the JV to watch out for would be Lykins and the tavris kid i think that is his name

After following the SOC1 thread, it looks like the Eagles will have to play very well to have a good season and the young players will have to step up in a big way. It is posted that Clay, SV, Green, and ND have most or all of their team back and NB has a very good transfer.

Lets work hard this off season Eagles! Sounds like repeating will be a tall order. I'll be pulling for a back to back champ season!

Any news on the team this summer. How are they doing in shootouts and which summer league are they in? Are most the boys showing up to these events?

Saw them play in the Valley Summer League a couple of times. Looked pretty solid. I think they will do well in SOC.

I dont know much about Symmes Valley but everyone else in the league seems to have lost a lot. Clay is big but ive seen them play 3 times this summer and they have not really impressed me. Eastern has as good a shot as any to win the title again this season.

Lightle04,

What Vulgamore transferred to Eastern? Where did you hear that? Haven't heard this one anywhere?

I heard it's Cody Vulgamore and he's only in 7th or 8th grade I do believe.

He is Kyle and Jared's younger brother.

He's going to be in the 8th grade. I heard about him transferring too, if he plays like his brothers he'll be a good asset in the future. Anymore news on the Eagles this summer? How did they finish up in the valley league and what's their scrimmages look like?

I look for the starting lineup to be Jordan Thornsberry(1), Chad Lands(2), Caleb Watkins(3), Billy Lykins(4), Morgan Cisco(5).
Not Definate. but thats what sounds decent.
