I don't know a lot about Meigs i know they had young size last year just a little suspect in the guard play,Guard play is where River Valley Excells, should be interresting to watch,If the Raiders push pace they could pull it off.

Probably a JV coach that hates losing...."Show me a good loser and I'll show you a real loser"...Woody Hayes

No one is standing in line for that job.

I saw the whole thing! What happened, first of all the 2 officials doing the JV game have no business reffing anywhere! As a player shot a 3 pointer from the corner he was literally tackled and the 2 refs were looking at the ball toward the other sideline,I think the coach was worried about why they never saw the incident,he threw the ball hard but the ref wasn't looking made it worse it hit the pad at the end of the gym.
These refs overreacted!
They were never in position, they let bad fouls go both ways and just looked like 2 jokers! They had nothing to do with the outcome, just have no business reffing a hs game!

In the Varsity game,River Valley jumped out 2-0 then made 8 straight stops and made 8 straight trips without scoring. Meigs then got the size working and played well for the 1st qtr got up as much as 14,the teams played a pretty even game after that River Valley cut it to 8 several times but could not get it closer and with fouling and such the score built back to 12 points.
Raiders were very affective in transition and if they had transitioned from the get go i think would have been a different game.
Missed opportunities and really poor shot selection in the 1st qtr meant a loss for RV.

Good Job Meigs way to be opportunistic, look forward to the 2nd meeting should be a good one

I don't care how poor the officials were. Throwing a ball at them is not the kind of role model I want coaching my kids. Taking up for them is one thing but this is over the line.
What in the world is going on at River Valley? Last year the girls coach gets in the face of an opposing player and now this.

I totally agree there is no place for this in HS sports,I don't think anything is going on at River Valley. The 2 incidents in no way went hand in hand,if you ask anyone who plays river Valley most usually their kids are as mannerly as anyone else's ? No worse than the tantrum that Howie Caldwell threw at the old River Valley HS 2 years ago and the Sheriffs dept had to escort several Eastern Folks from the building?? Just people over reacting about HS sports.

Wow, I have no clue where you are coming from to get on here and say those officials should never officiate a high school game? What game were you watching? I was there as well and anytime you have a two man crew doing a boys game you are going to have problems. So blame the AD, not the officials. No way any school should not have a 3 man crew in todays fast paced game. The officials did let both teams play, but nothing out of hand. On the shot you mentioned it looked to me like the player flopped, as opposed to getting tackled as you say. Regardless, the coach should have been tossed, and he was and that was no over reaction. Grabbing the ball as the official is reaching for it, then slamming it down and staring and screaming at him is bad enough. Then he heaved the ball at the other official. No call for that for any reason. The varsity crew was standing right beside me, and said the guy should have been tossed when he slammed the ball, then when he chucked the ball. Funny thing is, I was directly beside the RV bench and I never heard one complaint from the coach until that incident. So if the officials were as bad as you say, I wonder why he never complained?

Look i watched the whole game and i used to officiate myself, i always watch to see if the refs are in position, that is the no 1 thing they have to do to let themselves make the best effort at calling the game the way it should be called. These guys were never in position, were it being to close to half court when the ball was in the lane or both on the same side of the floor many times!! (what happened in the ball throwing incident!) Making calls in the lane from the half court line, that is just lazy! I'm sorry these 2 never cheated or tried to call in Meigs favor they are just HORRIBLE!The thing about having 2 refs is not valid in years past every game was called with 2 refs!
Also they know what kind of officiating they are going to get when they go there, also the coach who got tossed wouldn't know if the refs were bad! haha

ole bobcat you are way off base here. I officiate too and so I watch the officials a lot of times when I go to games. First of all, those guys were never on the same side of the floor. Secondly, I never saw them make a lane call from half court. In fact, a few times I thought the trail official got a little deep, which makes it hard to get back on a quick transition. On the no call you mentioned, the lead official was no more then three feet from the play. He flexed out along the baseline, almost to the sideline where the shot was taken. He then moved back inside where he is supposed to. I was in the front row the whole game, and I watched the whole thing too. So obviously you must be one of the players or coaches on the RV bench to have such a one sided view, cause your rendition of the game is not factual. On the ball throwing incident, why did the coach throw the ball at the official on the baseline anyway? The other official was standing right beside him, so why didn't he just hand him the ball? It looked clear to me he tried to hit the official with a fast ball to the head. Lucky for the official he was looking at the coach and was able to duck. No call for that behavior from the coach. He got what he deserved.

I wouldn't think River Valley would want someone like this representing them in any way.
