I really wanted to move Fairland up because of their strong performance against a good Hillsboro team. Really, if I had ties I would have a 4 way tie for 6th. I am not going to completely bash what Logan Elm has accomplished this season because of one very poor performance. They still deserve the #8 spot (http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/lo ... hedule.htm). After #11 Peebles the pack is pretty tightly bunched with very little separation.

The Logan Elm schedule is correct except for 1 game against Hamilton that they didnt play. That game was actually played by Circleville vs Hamilton and somehow was credited to Logan Elm.

I've had doubts about how high Logan Elm, Unioto, Marietta have been....I agree with Unioto and Marietta in your rankings....but just can't see LE deserving above Fairland and Waverly for now....if one of them gets defeated in a poor showing next game then maybe....a few others could pass them with extended tourney wins....if the VC loss wasn't much of an upset then VC should be top 20.

Ironman,

I realize that Logan Elm is down a little this year in comparison to the past but they still have the quality wins to earn a #8 spot in the rankings. This is not a knock against Fairland but Logan Elm has played the tougher schedule and beat a lot more quality teams. As for Vinton County, you dont even want me to break down their schedule in comparison to some of the other top 25 teams on the list.

Logan Elm Quality Wins/MP #
1. D2 Hillsboro 59-49 #394
2. D1 Teays Valley 55-40 #409
3. D3 Chesapeake 48-40 #69
4. D2 Fairfield Union 61-46 #283
5. D2 Beechcroft 67-51 #340
6. D3 Zane Trace 53-29 #441
7. D3 Amanda Clearcreek 52-42 #191
8. D1 Canal Winchester 67-44 #187
9. D2 Washington CH 44-36 #492
10. D2 Circleville 50-40 #275
11. D3 Amanda Clearcreek 55-48 #191
12. D2 Fairfield Union 52-40 #283

Fairland Quality Wins/MP #
1. St Joes Central (WV) 81-59 #47 WV
2. D3 South Point 69-49 #498
3. D3 Wheelersburg 52-38 #419
4. D4 South Webster 68-43 #292
5. Spring Valley (WV) 63-61 #48 WV
6. D3 South Point 66-41 #498
7. D2 Hillsboro 64-44 #394

You do the research and the work and you're confident in your reasoning....I would just have them two spots lower. Many of those good wins are to teams that were up and down all year or played in weaker leagues.....then beating Peake without McMasters.

I would just have them at #10 LE has a top notch program and a tremendous coach. Anytime you beat LE you've earned it.

In all honesty, there is almost no difference between Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Ironton, and Warren. Cases could be made for all 4 of them to be #1. But when I look at the schedules this is the main difference between Portsmouth and Peake.

Portsmouth Quality Wins MP #
1. South Webster 56-45 #292
2. Jackson 54-39 #406
3. Chillicothe 45-43 #142
4. Chillicothe 56-34 #142
5. Warren 69-66 #86
6. Wheelersburg 63-32 #419
7. South Point 73-58 #498
8. Logan 62-57 #356
9. Logan 78-58 #356
10. Piketon 79-57 #334
11. Peebles 67-44 #279
12. Jackson 62-54 #406
13. Ironton 59-53 #76
14. Wheelersburg 50-34 #419

Chesapeake Quality Wins/ MP#
1. St Joes Central (WV) 80-43 #47 (WV) - Lost to Oak Hill and South Point this year?
2. South Point 86-53 #498
3. South Point 69-35 #498
4. Fairland 70-62 #139
5. Fairland 59-47 #139
6. Fairland 52-49 #139
7. Ironton 69-66 #76
8. Mingo Central (WV) 74-61 #44 (WV)
9. Wellston 76-39 #473
10. South Point 95-45 #498

Going to wait another day or two to see what happens with some District games. Also, I realize Fairland beat Warren but that doesnt necessarily make them jump ahead of Warren. The last game played and head to head meetings are very important but doesnt make me forget the complete body of work a team has had.

Fairland was the team that beat Spring Valley 63-61. Chesapeake did not play Spring Valley this year. Max Preps got it wrong.
