This game comes down to whose interior player get into foul trouble. Dion got into foul trouble against Valley and they escaped. Ironton is the better team but Ports holds the experience card. Should be fun to watch Prime Time Saturday @the CONVO

Game comes down to heart. Nothing more, nothing less.

Both teams won on their home court. Who wants it more?

Round #3, ding ding

For Ozzie, biggdogg, and Tobias: I have checked with the local booking establishments and found out that your Trojans are an early 4-point favorite and just to show u I have a little sportsmanship about me I will be glad to take the "Tigers and 3" for an order of wings at BDUBS........

Should the line move any between now and Saturday we may have to go for a double order of wings at BDUBS......

For TrojanDave, I will let u know right now I will have extra blood pressure pills should u need them......we were observing you last nite as you jumped out of your seat at least 50 times to clap for your Trojans so u may need an extra pair of pants should u wear a hole in your jeans, and put your ball hat back on, you look much better with a hat on and also much younger...,,

And for GrayFightingTiger, please dont get lost and go to Lancaster cause the Convo will still be in Athens on Saturday....

Just thought I would throw out a little humor before all the roundball experts get on here and fascinate us with their knowledge or lack of knowledge about the game of basketball......

A classic rivalry takes a new turn.........this will the first time in the history of the Ironton/Portsmouth series that the two schools have met in the regional final........after 145 games and over 100 years of competing against each other, the stakes for this game have never been higher.........A TRIP TO THE FINAL 4 AWAITS THE WINNER!!

This senior class at PHS has accomplished some great things on the hardwood in their careers:

1. Back to back 20 win seasons for the first time since 1990-91
2. First SEOAL title in 6 years of league play
3. A Final 4 in 2011 and currently an Elite 8 appearance
4. Two 1,000 point scorers in Wayne Evans and Dion McKinley
5. The 22 wins so far this season ties them for 3rd most all-time in a single year with the 1961, 1987, and 1991 teams
6. An overall record of 43-7 in 2011 and 2012 combined.
7. Currently have a winning streak of 19 games and had a 15 game winning streak last season.

Coach Eugene Collins is now 55-14 in just his 3rd year at PHS.

With 1 more win, Portsmouth High School will record its first back to back Final 4 appearances in school history, and will also move into 2nd place all-time by themselves for most state appearances with 15........out of 830 high schools.

GO TROJANS!! WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU!!

Tigertownturkey: I would love to wear my hat, but it makes my head too hot........you saw me last night without my hat on, and I was still sweating. It's may be hard to believe, but I'll probably be more amped up for the game Saturday.

I thought trojan dave was going to have a heart attack during last nights game - I can't immagine you even more 'pumped up' dave ... there is just no way man - I don't think its physically or mentally possible ... lol
