The first night in the new gym for the Seminoles. They have a new coach and young talent. These two teams have good young players but they are just that, young. Central is a little more experienced, I think this is going to be a really competitive game, these two teams could surprise some people this winter. I hope Caldwell wins but I think it's going to be a tough game.

Can't think of anyone from central that will be able to lock down Weichman. Defense will be the key. The Seminoles will be pumped for this game, home opener in the new gym and all. If Caldwell can take control early in the first quarter and Weichman keeps the other players involved, I like their chances.

Skins 53
Seminoles 41

I was hoping to be able to tell more about MC after seeing them play again in the preview against Bridgeport. I've seen them play Union Local and Bridgeport and they looked real good against both of them...I'm just not sure how good either of those teams are going to be...UL had a couple kids not play because of injury. I guess I'll just stick to my earlier post that MC will surprise some people this year and be much better than most are expecting on here they are going to get up and down the court and go about 10 deep, so teams better be in shape. I hate that I'm going to miss this sesaon opener but I've got another game to attend. GOOD LUCK NOLES!!!

If they are that deep and uptempo I'm sure the Noles will give some teams fits. Most teams in PVC except Frontier have nice ball handlers.

Caldwell played really well in the preview, my son said they only ran motion and played half court man. I liked how Sebring picked up full court whenever we would take Wiechman out and immediately pull it off when he would come back in. The Zeps were running set plays and everything. I think Shenandoah people are going to regret running Schwieterman out before to long.

Heard that Central has been playing really well, opening a new gym they should be pumped up for Friday. Sounds like they are deep, Caldwell isn't very deep. The redskins only play 7 and our big kid sprung an ankle on Saturday morning at River View. Hope he can play Friday, guess he didn't practice last night. Coach used another freshman on Saturday morning, Heller, he played pretty well but probably isn't ready for varsity just yet. Should be a good one Friday night.

Who has been playing well for Central?

Hope they think so too. Wiechman is the quickest guard in the league while Clark, Carpenter, an Harding are just as fast as brown, laffre an the jorris boys. Central may win but you aren't playing Bridgeport this time out.

I never heard of them guys ( Clark, Carpenter or Harding) Brown is by far the quickest guard in the league. He plays lock down defense.I think he will give Weichman alot of trouble getting shots off.

You obviously have not seen Wiechman play if you think Brown is "by far the quickest guard in the league." Brown is fast, no doubt about it, but he will at the very least have an equal in those terms tomorrow night. He will need help on D....I would assume that Tolzda knows that considering how he torched his Beallsville boys in the tournament last year. That means the other kids will have to step up and knock down shots for Caldwell. IF they can do that it will be a long night for Central, if not, it will be a long night for Caldwell. I think it will be a very good ball game.

I just remember leaving FF/MC JV game thinking how impressive Levi Browns defense was.He is right there with Chandler Lang as one of the leagues best defenders. Now the Skins rarely play any defense.

Brown is a really good defender. Chuck, have you seen caldwell play this year? Hard to say they don't defend without watching :) granted you might be right. Though I do remember the game at fort last yr was like 14 all at half haha

Well duh, just pointing out that they played some D that night haha. Caldwell's games seem to have been pretty typical the past few years. Most of them in the 50's and usually really close games. They have been pretty competitive and to be honest I think winning 9 games each of the last few years was a pretty good accomplishment for the talent they had and where they were under the last coach. No complaints coming from Noble county.

I'll be heading out to the game here shortly. Guess it's time we let the players do the talking. Hoping for a good hard fought game. I'll try to remember to post some updates.

37-33 central at half. Not much fundamental basketball being played. Both teams in foul trouble and probably double digit turnovers.
