Top 10 is getting closer and closer to what I think is accurate. Even though I believe Piketon is ranked way too high and Oak Hill only sits above them. Not sure I agree with Eastern Beaver tied with ND at the moment, ND won on the road at their place and hosts them on Friday, guess that'll be the deciding factor.

Getting closer! Thanks run-n-gun.

I'm a Eastern fan and can't really argue that point. Fans must have looked at who the 2 teams have beat since that early match up. Much different strength of schedual. I hope neither team looks past there opponent Tuesday they are both playing pretty well going into there rematch.

On paper Vinton County might be a little overrated. There best wins are Piketon (N) and SWebster (N). Next, would be a win early against Waverly, and @NY (decent team). They have lost to Logan Elm (N) and Paint Valley.

Without a doubt the best team left off this list is 9-2 Minford.

Just going off the 'eye test' after seeing a ton of teams this year ... I still think Federal Hocking (9-3) is closing in on a top 10 spot ... the game tonight versus Belpre, who finally got their big man back, will be huge ... the Lancers are one of few teams who actually have a dominate center in 6-foot-5 manchild Max Carney ... they have a true point guard with Shawn Parsons ... and they have what seems like a never ending supply of 6-foot, 6-foot-1 small forwards who are strong and athletic. Usually my basketball knowledge is narrowed down to the TVC, but going out and watching all the classics this year, I've been able to get a good look at the entire area ... Warren, Fairland, South Webster, Eastern Brown, Logan Elm, Hannibal River, Fort Frye, Parkersburg South, Chesapeake, New Lex, Gallia, Jackson are just some of the teams I've had the luxury of seeing.

The 3-point loss by Federal Hocking to division II Harrison Central (9-2) is the game that still has me believing the Lancers can play with some of the teams at the bottom of our top 10 list.

Maybe this was discussed in the beginning as I just started sending my rankings last week but what is the reason for not just posting are rankings on the thread each week on Sunday or Monday? Or better yet, allow each postor to post his rankings after Monday at 5pm that way everyone can see the individual rankings. Its easy to rank teams when you know your not going to be scrutinized/analyzed by the entire board. Any of the regular postors agree/disagree with this? Just a thought.

The only way your vote will count is if it is directly sent to me in a PM. No votes posted on the thread will be counted.

But if you'd like to post how you voted once the poll is released each week for discussion, that is completely up to you.

1. Warren
2. Ironton
3. Athens
4. Eastern Brown
5. Oak Hill
6. Vinton Co
7. Piketon
8. Valley
9. Minford
10. Notre Dame

That was mine...I went with Warren this week after watching them take a 75-14 lead at Jackson. They are just loaded with 6-2 to 6-5 guys and they are the best in the paint passing team I have ever seen.

Would love to see them and Ironton go at it. LaFon and Maddox are two of the very elite coaches in the entire district. I've had Ironton #1 every week....Warren close behind. Debating who is better is a no wrongside debate.

I think those top four are pretty darn good basketball teams - and have a real good shot at possibly making the regionals ... it all depends on how that DIII bracket works out at the Convo ... you have 3 sectionals coming into one district tournament (and only 2 teams advance) ... not sure if Eastern Brown would have to play Ironton or not to get that far.

forget that last remark ... I just checked SEODAB - and 3 teams advance!
