I watched Crooksville last night - they are pretty good ... PG Caleb Jago scored 24 vs the Spartans - him and Emmitt Reed outta be a fun match-up to watch ... Mitchel Swingle is a load underneath the basket, had 13 pts, 9 rebounds vs Alex ... would love to see Jay Elliott and Swingle go at it on the football field ... lol ... but Friday night there should be a lot of 'pushing and shoving' going on in the post with those two big boys.

Most impressive aspect to the Crooksville team? probably their offensive 'style' ... they are an 'old school' team that will run the old 'pick-and-roll' with Swingle and Jago ... they do a lot of simple 'give-and-go's' and a lot of back-door cuts to the basket. Its a perfect offense to run against an agressive man-to-man defense, which NY likes to play ... the Bucks better 'stay home' and be desciplined on defense or they could find themselves in a real dog fight.

Playing Philo, Maysville, John Glenn, New Lex, Tri Valley, and Sheridan is a big advantage for Crooksville.

maybe take New Lex out of that equasion ...

Nelsonville-York has played a fairly descent schedule as well:

DII Vintion County (17-4) ... x2
DII Athens (18-4) ... x2
DIII Federal Hocking (17-5) ... x2
DIII Amanda III Amanda-Clearcreek (11-11)
DIII Wellston (11-11) ... x2

I agree.

best thing though for NY is who they've played lately ...

2/8 - Athens
2/12 - Federal Hocking
2/18 - Vinton County
2/22 - Crooksville ... they will be on the right 'level' to take on a team like Crooksville, IMO.

Federal Hocking would struggle in the MVL

Remember Crooksville is the smallest MVL school. Most schools that small would struggle playing that schedule Crooksville plays year in and out. They are around .500 and difficult to play against. Also remember NY is the smallest school in the TVC Ohio.

I think that every other school in the MVL is either DI or DII so Crooksvilles in league scedule is very tough. This should be a very competitive game for a 1 seed vs. and 8 seed.

Didn't NY just beat them like a few weeks ago at Crooksville?

Ugly, and early are two words that come to mind when pondering this game.

They should have never been a No. 8, IMO.

it should be:
(1) Nelsonville-York vs (8) Meigs
(3) Federal Hocking vs (6) Crooksville

This has potential to be a knock down drag out. Both teams don't seem to have a problem with being physical.

sure would be cool to watch this game again on channel 15 ... they have been showing a girls tournament game from 5 or 6 years ago since Monday night!

Surely Joe will tape this one since it's a tournament game but you shoud go live and see it the first time.
