Burg-Waverly tonight

Post by yabbadabbadoo »

Just curious as to why this game is being played tonight?

It means nothing. There are no trophies for 4th and whatever place Waverly ended up.

I would rather play a game to stay sharp, instead of practice for 8 days.

It's a league game and must be played. It's also Senior night for Burg.
As teamwork said, better than practicing yourself.
A couple different things were talked about doing tonight between the coaches. I'm sure they will play everybody and they'll be playing to have a good time.

I don't remember the final score but Burg won something like 53-49. Burg pulled their starters early and Waverly made a nice comeback against Burgs JV. Coach Ater put the starters back in late to seal the win. A pretty boring game as expected when it really meant nothing.

1. It was senior night
2. Waverly was still playing starters
3. Who likes to lose?

Actually Waverly only played starting 5 together at the beginning of the game.

Maybe so, but Knisley and Heibel were the leading scorers and were still in the game.

Yeah they were in at the end, but if you were paying any attention at all you would have realized that Waverly split their starters and went with two teams of 5 and rotated them about halfway thru each quarter. He did put Knisley back in with a little bit of time on the clock so he could finish the game on the floor.

That's what I heard today. Waverly took 10 players and freely subbed, rotating 5 and 5. At one point Waverly had 1 true scorer in the game. They were there to play everybody and have fun.
