Although I have not seen Waverly play I feel that the Pointers are playing really good right now. I am sure they wiil have a height advantage and if they play like they are capable then this should be a win! Go Blue!

SP will for sure have the size advantage and are a big favorite, but Waverly can play with anyone if they have a good shooting night. Waverly should be able to play loose because the pressure is on SP to prove they deserved the #2 seed. Not many people thought Waverly would get by Alexander. Good luck to Waverly and represent the SOC well!

Pointer's inside game will be too much for Waverly and if Barnes and Johnson are on on the 3's game over! Pointers by 12.

I believe I read where Waverly took 11 threes against Alexander. That is why they are playing in this game. They didn't settle for the three and attacked the basket getting to the line. They generally throw up 20 plus 3's. If they continue to be aggressive and look to get to the basket I like their chances in this one.

South Point should win this game, they have a huge inside game, great three point shooters and awesome guard play. Not to mention their subs off the bench are not really a step down in talent. I think Barnes has had 3 or 4 differnet starting lineups through out the season.

South Point will be too athletic for Waverly IMO and have several threats to score the basketball.
Pointers by 10

... I have the Pointers at #14 for a reason - Barnes, Johnson, Ketron, Foley, Rickard - Okay maybe 5 reasons ... I have liked South Point ALL season ... Waverly sits at #40 ... I'm going with Barnes & Co. to survive and advance ...

All five of your reasons are well over 6 foot except one
Add in Beefy Boggs at 6 ft 3 and wide and we have the reason we are seeded so high! Keep rolling Pointers!

If Waverly plays like they did in the first three quarters against Alexander I think South Point will be too much for Waverly too handle. If Waverly can put together four quarters they can play with anyone.
And if you wanna talk about rankings Waverly beat Oak Hill and Piketon and they ranked inside the top 20, not to mention Alexander who is at 26. That is not a prediction. Not saying SP, Piketon or OH is overrated,it just shows that rankings don't mean much. Look what UNC did to Duke or BC did to Syracuse
Hoping for a good ballgame.

Waverly with a great game plan, executed well, couldn't buy a basket. Held SP to 37 points and 1,500 career point scorer to 8 points. Tigers shot in the 20% range from the field and probably didn't go to the line 5 times. Not sure how many FT's Waverly shot. The "intentional" foul call when the Tigers were only down 7 pretty much sealed the deal. I've never seen that type of foul called "intentional". 2 shots and the ball was huge. Not saying it can't be called that, just haven't seen an official do it and take the game into his hands.

I think the tigers gave a great defensive effort but settled for too many three balls again. Rinehart for Waverly continued to do all the things that don't show up on the score sheet or in the headlines. The kid took four charges. What an effort he gives.

3 for 17 from 2 point land and only 4 foul shots attempted. Pretty much the story.
