SOC II Standings

Post by Crab's Brother »

Here is what I have through Tuesday 12/17:

Oak Hill 6-0 3-0
Minford 3-1 3-0
Valley 5-0 2-0
West 4-2 2-1
Wheelersburg 1-2 1-2
Northwest 1-5 0-2
Webster 1-4 0-3
Waverly 0-6 0-3

It looks like only the Northwest-Valley game from 12/6 still needs to be made up. I think the other games from that evening have been played.

Friday should be interesting with Valley welcoming Oak Hill and Burg going to Minford. I think the Pirates will have a huge say in who wins the league, but they will be in serious trouble with 3 league losses before Christmas.

Anyone have JV records?

I know Valley is 4-1 (2-0 in the league). They lost their opener to Unioto and have won 4 straight since.

Couldn't make the Waverly at Oak Hill game last night but saw it was a 10 point game. I also see the Oaks are 6-0, who have they played and what have been the scores?

Updated standings through Christmas:

Valley 7-1 (4-0)
Minford 4-1 (4-0)
Oak Hill 6-1 (3-1)
West 5-3 (2-2)
Northwest 2-6 (1-3)
Wheelersburg 1-3 (1-3)
Waverly 1-6 (1-3)
Webster 1-6 (0-4)

I could be wrong, but the first game scheduled against Huntington Prep was an unsanctioned game, which means it should not officially count towards Minford's record. Given the nature of the type of school HP is, HP is not affiliated with West Virginia's state athletic association. As you said after that game, it was a glorified scrimmage and a financial opportunity for the Falcon athletic department. As far as I'm concerned, Minford should be officially undefeated!!!

It had refs, 8 minute quarters, I paid to get in, and it wasn't called a foundation game. Minford is 4-1 going into this weekend, but you can call it what you want. :122245 :122245

Only outcomes I am missing from the SOC II are the two scheduled South Webster-New Boston battles from this past weekend (Dec. 27-28).

If anybody has the scores, I would appreciate them. Thanks.

Northwest 70
Jackson 54

Friday Games:

South Webster @ Valley
Minford @ West
Oak Hill @ Wheelersburg
Northwest @ Waverly

Saturday Games:

Huntington @ Valley
West @ Rock Hill
Wheelersburg @ Russell

Minford, Oak Hill, Waverly, Northwest, and South Webster are all listed as not playing on Saturday.

Valley 8-1 (4-0)
Minford 6-1 (4-0)
Oak Hill 7-1 (3-1)
West 5-3 (2-2)
Wheelersburg 2-3 (1-3)
Waverly 3-6 (1-3)
Northwest 3-6 (1-3)
Webster 3-6 (0-4)

Tonight is a big game for Wheelersburg. They appear to have gotten it together after the long football season, but 4 league losses will be very hard to overcome if they want a shot at the championship. Minford is in a tricky spot against at West, so that will be interesting. If they can get past the Senators, they will set themselves up for a huge week next week with a trip to Oak Hill and a visit from Valley.

Friday Scores:

Valley 74
South Webster 40

Minford 73
West 55

Wheelersburg 44
Oak Hill 42

Waverly 62
Northwest 32

Updated Standings:

Valley 9-1 (5-0)
Minford 7-1 (5-0)
Oak Hill 7-2 (3-2)
West 5-4 (2-3)
Wheelersburg 3-3 (2-3)
Waverly 4-6 (2-3)
Northwest 3-7 (1-4)
Webster 3-7 (0-5)

Wheelersburg got the much needed win. Valley and Minford continued on a collision course for next Friday. Waverly stayed hot. If there are no games lost next week, Friday will complete the first round through the conference. The season is flying.
