moonshine ... saw the 6-8 Kevin Fisher's pic in the paper with all of the other basketball participants ... he was in pics with the younger PRE-highschool campers as well - so he helped the coaches with the camp run for the youngsters I would say ... Kevin Fisher is a GREAT kid ! I have talked with him, kidded around with him, saw some of what he did fitting in at Logan High School with other players on the Purple squad, saw how he interacted with ALL kids at LHS ... he is exactly what you want in a player, student athlete ... he worked out on his own every day after school in the gym from day 1 when he arrived in Logan - shooting, running sprints (yes running sprints), he had others timing him etc, he had other Logan "bigs" working on their games as well ... Kevin Fisher WILL BE/IS a leader on the team while being a force on the court ... plays inside/shoots the 3 from the perimeter, has the "99.9% shot- the dunk" in his skill set ... with his size at 6-8 he will automatically make the Logan defense better just having his athletic presence in the paint ... Logan will be able to do a lot more defensively on the perimeter knowing that the big boy is behind them in the paint ... TONS OF UPSIDE to having a "true, athletic, basketball knowledgable BIG" in the paint - Kevin Fisher brings ALL of that to the court for the Purple ...

Sounds like what our Chiefs have what they have been lacking for the last few years, let's monitor the progress of the team this summer and if they come together we could have an enjoyable winter!

Any way to get him out for the football team? Logan could sure use a big TE/DE like that

... monnshine - I haven't had the opportunity to get out to see the Chieftains this summer or talk with any of the coaches as to how things have gone in June ... hoping to hear something from Coach Helber & Co before too long though ...

... I sent an email to Coach Helber to try to get some feedback on how the Purple did this summer ... not sure how often Coach reads his email over the summer but I put it out there ... I'm most curious to here how the Big Man Kevin Fisher played, as well as who stepped up to fill in the key go to spots?, who will pick up the offensive scoring?, any PG's step up their games this summer? ...

Logan team camp Chiefs won more than they lost. They got quality mins from the post and PG spots. All in all good summer with solid opponents and lots to build for the winter.

My opinion Logan will have Cottrill and Little at the guards Fisher in the post, Cox and Smith at the forwards.

Looks like the schedule has some nice additions to it this season with Chesapeake and a game at the Wellston Event.

I've seen a lot of you post about the big boy (Fisher). Was he a move in? If so, from where?

... bbjunky81 Kevin Fisher transfered in from IMG Academy in FL ... he was here in the LHSD in the 8th grade, practiced during the summer with LHS team then went to the IMG Academy his freshman/soph years before moving back in late April of this past school year ... a legit 6-8, athletic, good hands, foot work, shoots the 3 ball, dunks the rock ... will be a BIG asset to Coach Helbers squad this season ... he is playing football this fall as well ...

Fisher will add a dimension that Logan hasn't had in a LONG time. A solid inside presence. He has decent footwork, plays good defense and can block shots. But he wants to shoot from long range too much from what Im told and that's not his game imo. I like the lineup of Fisher and Gabe Smith on the blocks with an athletic Chance Cox on the wing and Joey Cottrill at the point looking for a big senior year. That 5th man will be tough to decide. Lane Little is a solid 2G with athleticism, Nick Kost has Senior experience, Evan DeLong has good size (6-3) and can move. And the big mystery will be if Cole Baron plays basketball. He has the ability to get several minutes next season but scuttlebutt is he is a football only guy now, so who knows but he would be a great piece to the puzzle with his motor and ability. Logan will be young with the potential to have three underclassmen on the floor as starters. But they will have some ability. Cant wait to see what unfolds and I make NO PREDICTIONS! :122245 I was scolded last year......

I really hope Baron plays. He's got good speed, anticipates passes well which earns him a lot of steals, and he loves to run. He will be missed if the rumors are true.

That being said, I think Gabe Smith will be a big presence down low. He's shown a lot of improvement with the small amounts of playing time he got last year. I see Fisher and Smith down low, Cottrill at point, Cox/Kost on wing and Little at 2G. Little has never been hesitant about driving and collapsing the defense, and he can hit from downtown consistently.

Will Little be ready to go?
