(13) Olentangy Orange vs. (12) Logan - 3/2

Thoughts on this one?

This would be the Chiefs first sectional title since joining the Central district. All I know about Orange is that they are 13-9.

Orange went right after Logan, so I'm hoping the Chieftains put it on them lol. Orange will definitely be prepared, but I think Logan's overall talent will take them over the top.

Looking at Olentangy Orange's schedule looks like they have some up and downs. The Pioneers have beaten some good teams in Westerville North and Dublin Coffman but also lost to Olentangy twice for Olentangy's only league wins. Looks like they may to play to level of competition- which are always dangerous teams to play.

THAT is a slap in the face to the Purple MORE bulletin board material ... Logan with too much talent, AT HOME , Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line ... banjos to the left of the Orange banjos to the right of the Orange as they roll down Rt 33 entering the Hocking Hills Region ... my Ouija Board is saying sectional champs & cutting down the nets at Jim's Gym Friday night ... best of luck to the Purple !

I hope the Boys Totally Destroy Olentangy and make that think twice before they pick Logan as an easy win.

Olentangy Orange:

13-9 overall; 4-6 in the OCC-Buckeye

Averaging 60 ppg

Allowing 56 ppg

Common Opponents: New Albany (Win, 55-42, Logan win 51-44); St Charles (Win, 50-34, Logan win 47-42)

Played in a really competitive OCC division with all three Westerville and all three Olengangy's. Liberty and Orange both beat Dublin Coffman and Olentangy was the only team to beat Upper Arlington. And they were the three worst teams in the divisions (by record).

Orange won their district in '16 and. Made the district final in '15. I'd be nervous about this game because they played a rugged schedule and had key wins ( beat a division champ). Former Logan friend of mine living in Grove City area saw them and said they have very good guard play. The 6'7 kid is a killer in the paint. Their D puts the grind on you. Logan will have to seriously work for a win as Orange can win this game. Their coach went right after Logan in the seeding. He must look at it as a potential win. If they shut down Myers , they win.

Should be a great game. Looking at Orange's scores and it appears that they can get out of system for what a typical OCC school does. I think Logan can get the Win, but they will have to play well.

This has to present a dilemma for you pfloyd. Do you stay close to home to potentially watch history or do you drive down 33 for Basketball 30?

Chiefs are going to need a fast start and set the tone. Cannot afford to start out lackluster shooting.
