The Glenwood Tigers met the Division III Southeastern Panthers at Piketon High School today and came away with a 62-41 victory. Score after one 13-11, at the half 28-21 and after three 48-34. Next up for the Tigers is a SOCI game at Symmes Valley on 12/6.

The Tigers were led in scoring by Sexton with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assist, followed by Tanner Voiers with 13 points. Jones tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Clark had 4 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Saunders and McKinley finished with 3 and 2 points, respectively.

New Boston Glenwood 64
Symmes Valley 51

The Tigers jumped out to a 10-0 lead and held on in the end for the victory. The score was 22-8 after one, 42-24 at the half, 51-31 after three and the final 64-51. Symmes Valley outscored the Tigers 20-13 in the final quarter.

New Boston improves to 2-0, 1-0 while Symmes Valley slips to 1-1, 0-1.

The Tigers were led in scoring with Tanner Voiers with 27, followed by Potts with 10, Sexton and Clark with 9 each, McKinley 5 and Jones 4. The Vikings were led by Brammer with 14, L Leith 13, J Leith 11, Scherer 7, Walsh 4 and Ferguson 2.

Next up for the Tigers is three games next week. On 12/10 they travel down to Adams Co. to take on the 1-0 West Union Dragons, 12/13 they host the Sciotoville Tartans 0-3, 0-1 and then on Saturday 12/14 they travel up to Highland Co. to face the 1-2 Whiteoak Wildcats. The Vikings host the Western Indians next Friday evening.

The JV game was hotly contested with Symmes Valley pulling out the win 45-41. SV was leading by 27-14 at one time, the Tigers fought back before falling to the Vikings.

The New Boston at Racine Southern game scheduled for Saturday 12/28 has been moved to Friday 12/27.

New Boston Glenwood 85
West Union 61

Playing their third game on the road, the Tigers defeated the Division III Dragons in West Union. The score was 19-12 after one, 44-28 at the half, 66-44 after three and the final 85-61.

Scoring for the Tigers was Tanner Voiers with 24 points, 6 rebounds, Clark with a career high of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks, Sexton with a triple double with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists, Jones 9, Saunders 6, Potts 4 and McKinley 3. Unofficial scoring for the Dragons was #22 with 20 and #21 with 14. I did not get all of their scoring.

The JV game went to the Dragons 49-48. New Boston led after one at 17-8, at the half 23-13. West Union pulled ahead in the third and led 39-34 at the end of three. The final 49-48 Dragons.

The Tigers move to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. West Union slips to 1-1.

New Boston host the Sciotoville East Tartans 0-3, 0-1 on Friday 12/13 for homecoming and travel up to Highland County on Saturday to face the Whiteoak Wildcats 1-2.

Sciotoville East 28

15 players saw action for the Tigers

New Boston led at all stops, 28-4 after one, 48-11 at the half, 72-21 after three and the final 81-28.

NB stays unbeaten at 4-0, 2-0, while the Tartans fall to 0-5, 0-2.

The Tigers also won the JV game 36-24, their first win of the season.

Next up for the Tigers is a game tomorrow at Whiteoak 1-3 in Highland County. 12/7 they go over to Clay 3-2, 1-0, followed by 12/20 hosting Green 3-3, 0-1 and the final game of 2019 they travel up to Racine Southern 3-3 in Meigs County on 12/28. East has Green at home 12/17, at Symmes Valley on 12/20 and finish 2019 hosting the South Gallia Rebels 2-1 on 12/30.

Sexton led the scoring with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals, Tanner Voiers followed with 12 points, 6 assists, Saunders 11 points, McKinley 8 points, 9 rebounds, Jones 7, Jackson 6, Potts 5 with 9 assist, Clark 5, McLaurin and Grant 3 each. For East, it was Pernell 8, Metzler and Pyles 5 each, Winston 4, Smith 3, Coyle 2 and Comer 1.

Friday night was Homecoming at New Boston. Freshman Attendant is Maddi Pace, Sophomore Attendant is Riley McClintic, Junior Attendant is Tonya Cook, Senior Attendants are Brooklyn Hoskins and Kennedy Werner. This years queen is Aliyah Fraley. Congrats Ladies!

I was surprised of the score. Not surprised they played hard but they are quite young and inexperienced

With no disrespect to the Wildcats, I heard they played hard. But the officiating help the game stay close as well and the Tigers did a good job keeping their composure and getting out of that hostile environment with a win.

South Point and Peebles are the only two teams that have a chance to beat New Boston, but both of those teams will be underdogs for sure.

Not sure they'll get much love from the AP voters. If they finish 22-0 they will crack the top 10 but more in the 6-10 range than the 1-5 range.
