Unioto has a CB of 27 and FU has CB of 28. Athens is only 4. We need to get on the recruiting trail to keep up

Butcher, Moore, Whiting ... don't all three have ties to the Federal Hocking school district?

Moore lives in the plains. Whiting lives in Athens. Butcher is our CB since he lives in Fed Hock district. Be a heck of a team if they all went to Fed Hock

Yes you need to recruit harder if you want a high CB

In the city of Lancaster. Lancaster is the mailing address
FU over the years has had a handful of students (many of whom previously attended FC, incidentally) live in the physical city of Lancaster. Their attendance/open enrollment into FU being in the interest of not going to LHS.

Fu is an open enrollment school but is turning a lot of students away right now. Used to be if your parent(s) were FU grads and wanted to their kids to FU, you were almost assuredly getting them in, but now they're turning even those away. Both my brother and sister live in lancaster and tried to open enroll their kids to FU and got denied so they are either stuck in the lancaster school district or will need to move into FUs.

I'd assume this is the case basically at every rural school that's by a larger city though, no?
I'd safely assume Unioto and Zane Trace have kids from inaide chilli city limits right? I guess assuming they have open enrollment.

Would be interesting to look at cities like Lancaster, zanseville, chilli, and see what the cb numbers look like around the rural schools. Maybe I'll dig into it.

Not sure what schools border up against Chilli, so I just used Unioto and ZT, but if you give me others, ill look at those too. I also used the Boys Bball CB numbers for 19-20

Chillicothe D1 367 Students - 19 CBs
around Chillicothe:
- Unioto 27 CB
- Zane Trace 12 CB

Lancaster- 724 Students 11 CB
around Lancaster:
- Fisher Catholic- 31 CB
- Fairfield Christian Academy - 55 CB------ Id assume for FC and FCA their CB number is for those kids located OUTSIDE of lancaster.. is that correct FCfan?
- Amanda Clearcreek - 1 CB
- Berne Union- 9 CB
- Bloom carroll- 5 CB
- Fairfield Union- 28 CB
- Liberty Union- 9 CB

Zanesville- D2 344 Students 10 CB
around Zanseville:
John Glenn- 9 CB
Maysville- 2 CB
Philo- 5 CB
Rosecrans - 5 CB
Tri Valley- 11 CB
West M- 3 CB

Sheridan is a 12 CB, but I'd guess they get kids from maybe Lancaster, Zanesville, New Lex, FU, or even Newark... so no idea how to look at their number

Surprises for me were Bloom only having 5, because they line up against both lancaster, and now they are getting closer and closer to pickerington. On the same note, LU might also be getting kids from pickerington as they are also very close now as pick town keeps exploding.
Maysville only having 3 surprised me, because its hard to even distinguish between maysville and zanesvilles district in a lot of places. maybe they have a decent size line where you can choose between the 2??

maybe there is more to this to look into.. if so tell me what to look at and ill get it.

this will be an easy answer for someone, but why are there different CB numbers for each sport?? the student enrollment doesn't change so why the numbers? Just based off the number of divisions for each sport?

Yep, based on how many divisions. I used to think I really understood it, but had someone really break it down for me and now I don’t even try

Schools that border Chillicothe are Unioto, ZT, Huntington, and Southeastern

Most have fairly distinct school districts based on townships, but Chillicothe, SE and Unioto are all in Scioto Township, as it is very large. I believe some of Zane Trace is even in it as well. I’m sure there are some well defined borders, I’m just not 100% what they are.

i read the 101 page and the pdf long version twice... the more I read it the more confused i was as to how it actually works and what the numbers really mean. It'd be interesting to see maps of schools actual enrollment areas. FU is a huge geographical district. There are parts of FUs district that i would very much consider lancaster, and yet then again FU HS and MS have the lancaster address, and obviously the school is about 7 miles outside the actual city line. But also some spots that I'm surprised aren't LU or BC too.

I think teams will be jockeying a bit to try to avoid a section final vs Logan Elm when a couple teams in front of them may not worry teams as much.

I just wonder how much jockeying can be done with seeding 18 teams. I know of one school who will likely try to play us in a semi-final game. Likely because of us getting a higher seed than them last year.

Warren loses some they could be 8/9....with a red faced 1 seed lol

I don’t think LE can drop low enough for that to happen

With the depth of the SE and only 1 team getting out I dont think any team is gonna feel like they have an easy sectional final game this year. Top 8 will all be more then capable of a Tourny run.

If the right teams get in the (1, 8/9) (2, 7/10), (3, 6/11)....it could be a fairly easy game if right team and matchup

Kids/parents who want the kid to move will go to where the programs/coaches are solid. Happens everywhere. As for Zanesville, they have a community HS that doesn’t count against there numbers, that’s how they get to D2/D3 and have 25,00 people in the city. They anticipate being D 4 in football within the next 5 years. Kid is 5’2”, he goes to community HS, kid is 6’4” he goes to Zanesville HS. Loophole at its best, nkbownthe rules and take advantage.
