Zane Trace returned everyone back from last years D2 district championship team. They are just now getting healthy. I wouldn’t want to play against them in the tournament. Have fun with that.
Yeah but also if not for a horrid charge call late a bad Hillsboro team would’ve beat them in the sectionals
Really? Lol.

They were one minute away from playing in the regional finals. Guess D3 is so much stronger than D2. 😂

3. Eastern Brown
4. Wheelersburg
5. Chesapeake
6. Oak Hill
7. Alexander
8. North Adams

A few games I'm looking at tomorrow that are fairly big for D3 seeding purposes are:

Ironton @ South Point
Oak Hill @ Burg
Zane Trace @ Gahanna (should be a blowout but a great test for ZT)

If Coal Grove is healthy then Chesapeake @ Coal Grove could possibly be interesting.

As of today I'm still seeing something along these lines..

1.) Fairland
2.) Zane Trace
3.) Eastern Brown
4.) Chesapeake
5.) Wheelersburg
6.) Oak Hill
7.) Alexander
8-11 ) Some order of North Adams, Ironton, South Point, and Adena

If Oak Hill beats Burg they deserve to be above them and possibly above Peake.

A lot could change with some huge games over the next 2 weeks...

Also, a health update on Kearns from Alexander will be crucial. They beat #3 Eastern Brown pretty handedly but since then got blown out by Jackson and then a loss to Athens.. both good D2 teams, but the health status of Kearns could keep them sliding in the wrong direction. Prayers to the young man for a quick and speedy recovery.

Gahanna Lincoln beats Zane Trace 78-63 at Gahanna. Not too bad for a D3 team on the road against a D1 team that was undefeated & ranked #3 in D1 a week ago.

Eastern Brown has a #1 argument....as does Fairland and ZT. Burg keeps winning and beats Waverly and they might too

D3 is going to be great to watch
but all said and done Zane Trace is the team
that everyone has to go through to much talent
its a D2 team playing D3 everyone back from a D2 regional last year
C'mon

South Point wins a close one
Burg wins a fairly close one
Fairland loses to a down Gallia squad
Zane Trace kept it respectable against a D1 powerhouse.... that locks in the #1 seed for them IMO.. Eastern Brown has an argument as well.
Alexander beats Wellston, not sure if Kearns is back or not

As of today I like something around:

1.) Zane Trace
2.) Eastern Brown
3.) Fairland
4.) Chesapeake
5.) Wheelersburg
6.) Alexander
7.) Oak Hill
8.) North Adams
9.) Adena
10.) South Point
11.) Ironton
12.) Minford
13.) Piketon
14.) Belpre
15.) Meigs
16.) Western

Oak Hill and Alexander might need flipped

Belpre might get higher votes because they'll have more wins but arguably every team I've listed above Belpre would win the TVC Hocking.

Does Zane Trace have better wins than Wheelersburg? Eastern Brown? ZT can be only looking at 1 loss being at a good Unioto. A better loss than Eastern Brown’s and no bad losses like Fairland but are their wins good enough to be the 1 over the others?

I'll try to list 'quality wins', if I miss one feel free to add it in..

Zane Trace key wins: Logan Elm, Vinton County, Adena, Unioto
Zane Traces losses: Unioto, Chillicothe, Gahanna Lincoln

Eastern Brown key wins: Chesapeake, Peebles, North Adams,
Eastern Brown losses: Alexander

Wheelersburg key wins: Oak Hill x2, South Point, Jackson
Wheelersburg losses: Waverly, Ironton

Fairland key wins: CHCA, South Point x2, Huntington (WV), Bishop Watterson, Chesapeake, Waverly, Ironton
Fairland losses: Bishop Ready, Gallia Academy

Chesapeake key wins: Athens, Shenandoah, Ironton x2, North Adams, South Point
Chesapeake losses: Eastern Brown, Fairland

In terms of Zane Trace's losses, literally every team on this list loses to Chillicothe and Gahanna Lincoln. I have zero doubt about that. So like you alluded to the only 'loss' that comes into consideration should be Unioto, which was a 2 point loss to a very solid D2 team.

Fairland had the #1 seed locked up until a bad loss to Gallia last night. They have one less 'loss' than Zane Trace, but Zane Trace has zero 'bad losses'. I could argue that Fairland has more good wins, though.

Based off of strength of schedule and the margin of victories, I would have Chesapeake over Wheelersburg at this point. But some coaches may vote that differently.

If Eastern Brown didn't lose to Alexander I would say they are the sure fire #1. That's not a 'bad loss' by any means, but the manner at which they lost on a neutral court... ehh.... Good news is, they followed that up by absolutely dismantling a very solid Peake team by 30.

With all that said.... that's why I feel it's a 2 horse race between Zane Trace and Eastern Brown.... with some coaches also throwing in Fairland as the #1.

I hope most coaches just take the small amount of time you did to give it a fair look

Not sure that I would include Shenandoah (10-6) as a quality win for Chesapeake. They are #46 in Div-IV (SoS -1.5) on Maxpreps.

Thank you. I just saw a close score, on the road, against a team with a winning record. I can't say I'm educated on Shenandoah's schedule other than the East typically has some pretty solid teams. Maybe one of the posters from the East can elaborate further on the Zeps.

With Fairland's loss to Gallia Academy last night, the race for the #1 seed just got a lot closer than it already was. Now I think it's not a two horse race between Fairland and Zane Trace. I think Wheelersburg, Eastern Brown, and Chesapeake could get in the mix for that #1 spot as of right now, but there's still some games to play. Looks like a lot of drama down the stretch for #1. Zane Trace might have a slight edge, as bbjunky81 said because they have no so called "bad" losses......but what will the coaches do? We've all seen in the past how the seeds don't play out like many think they will. I still wouldn't count out Fairland even with that loss to the Blue Devils.

It will be interesting to see when the voting window closes to see if the games on 2/7 will come into consideration in the voting. Burg @ Waverly is important for the SOC as well as seeding purposes but may not come into play.

Meigs should be ahead of Belpre in this ranking just based on head to head if they would be one spot ahead of them.
