19 I believe.
Just for the fact that I have seen both of these teams 2 or 3 times this year, I'm just a little surprised that Valley was able to play and keep the game this close, especially with the game being at Waverly.
I was not able to make it last night and was a little surprised too. I saw the score online this morning and it looked like Valley's freshmen and seniors played well. Saw that Nickel had 18 and Arnett 11, with Mollette having 16 and Zaler 10. Valley did push Oak Hill for a while Friday night, with the young guys (Nickel, Arnett, Perkins) playing well in that one. I would be curious to hear a breakdown of this one, with it being such a close game.

Hoopie just curious on what you think about this. For Peebles to make a big run you'll need Ruckle and Browning to do what they have been doing but is Dawson Mills the X factor? I think he has the skill to score 15 + a night.
Agree,100% . He is just learning that hes. 6'6". If he listens to coach,he's good for 12 to 20 every night. If he works on his rb,s and defense the sky's the limit. It's all on Dawson in my opinion. He has to value the ball.
I'm just wondering where he got his height from I know his father and mother and it's not from them lol

Ive not been able to give a recap yet, still trying to re-cooperate from the near heart attack. Valley (Mollette) had a 25’ shot at the buzzer with Futhey in his face and arms as high as he could reach em go in and out that would have won it.
Waverly was up 12 in the 4th and Valley hilt 6 threes in the period to come back. They actually had the final shot to win it in regulation but missed. Waverly was up 6 with 2:12 remaining in OT but Valley hit a 3 and got a steal and bucket. Waverly missed a few FT’s and a layup in the waning moments that would have sealed it.
Full report later.

Waverly did not make a 3 pointer all game, they didn't shoot a lot of 3s in general I don't believe. That hurt, because Valley was hitting 3s left and right in the 4th. And the Tigers left too many points at the FT line. As coach Robertson told Valley in the hand shake line and as he stated on the radio in his post-game interview, Valley deserved to win that game. But the Tigers came out on top and keep the hope of an SOC title alive.

It seems to happen more often than not so far this season, that Waverly is playing to the level of their competition and not at their own level. If the Tigers come out engaged, focused, and give 110% effort they have shown multiple times what they are capable of. But if they lack any of those, things get dicey. Hopefully they get it figured out sooner rather than later. They have 9 games remaining and only 2 of those are at home. If they don't come to play every night, they will have a few more L's added onto their record.

We listened to the last few minutes and then OT on the radio last night. Those two guys crack me up. Their call of the last shot was one I wish I had on tape.

From my vantage point (Table, Clock/PA) right behind the shooter, Futhey facing us (right in line with the shot), it looked good in flight and I could have sworn it was good but it went in, hit the rim in a a couple spots and jumped out. I can’t imagine what they were saying.... I was about to puke, lol.

Great recap. I wish I could have made it Tuesday. The last few games it has seemed like coach Horton has been finding a better mix. The younger players have been really improving and playing with confidence. I think that will be a difference in the last few weeks of the season and in the tournament.

I saw Oak Hill only beat Portsmouth West 38-32. Anyway surprised with that one as much as Waverly/Valley?
Anyone have a report on that one?

I saw the game and I don't know whether the low scoring was because both teams were just playing good defense, or that both were just having a bad night shooting the ball. I know that Portsmouth West played some type of Zone defense, and that they were making it very difficult for OH to even get the ball into Chase Hammond. Even though Hammond ended up with 18pts, 10 of the points came from the free throw line. It just at times seemed as if neither team cared about speeding the game up, and both was just very deliberate about running there offenses. I don't think that PW ever had the lead throughout the game, but 6 pts may have also been the largest margin that OH ever had. I know that OH had the lead at the end of each Qtr, 7-3, 17-14, 24-23, and 38-32. PW did a good job doubling Hammond when he did get the ball, and I thought there team and coach both gave them a very good chance to stay close as well as win the ballgame.
