1/14: Logan Elm @ Miami Trace
Re: 1/14: Logan Elm @ Miami Trace
@MT is a tough shooting background and their bigs are big and move well to make perimeter shots tougher and also contest EVERY shot in the lane. Their guards don’t shoot well but have improved and do play good on defense.
I wonder what good pressure in the back court would do to MT but don’t know.
Will always have two of their bigs on the court and went some against us with all 3. One is I’d say 6’5 1/2 and a bruiser. He’ll bang around the lane big time. Other is a good 6’6 1/2, maybe 6’7. He goes to perimeter some. Medium build kid who doesn’t finish great when getting banged on but he’s a long one. The 3rd one comes off the bench and he’s a solid 6’7 and big boy, looks like he’s not done growing either. He hit a 3 on us and shot a couple. Big boys all pass pretty well.
Logan Elm should win but it might be harder than expected.

You’ll overreact to whatever happens, because you only look at results and nothing else.
For instance, this is a strange matchup for LE because of MT’s immense size advantage.
I think the Braves win, but also that it will be close, especially on the road.
Re: 1/14: Logan Elm @ Miami Trace
... anytime LE goes up vs a team with size it is a challenge for the Braves ... can they win - yes, are they favored - probably yes as well ... BUT with the size that MT brings to the table Coach Stiverson & Co. will need to make this one an up and down game to negate the size advantage ... pressure the ball on the perimeter to get transition buckets ... not sure they can win a half court contest vs 6-6, 6-7, 6-7 size ... it will be closer than expected if it turns into a half court contest imo ... but my money is on the LE TEAM either way ...

Did Jackson attempt to press MT when they played ? Someone said there guards were pretty tall, are they pretty good at handling the ball ? I would guess that MT doesn't press, as I doubt that with that much size on the front line, that they may not be that quick.Ironman92 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 4:05 pm @MT is a tough shooting background and their bigs are big and move well to make perimeter shots tougher and also contest EVERY shot in the lane. MT guards are not tall. Jackson doesn’t press too often.VetteMan wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 12:02 amDid Jackson attempt to press MT when they played ? Spot on! If you can’t match size the next best thing is make the bigs run. If you are only going to get 1 shot most the time get it before they get set. I have saw MT twice and sounds like LE is smallish guards. If LE can play fast they will win going away once MT gets tired. Half court game will hurt LE because MT will Alter shots. May take this game in to get a look at LE before tourney time.pfloyd wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 9:39 pm ... anytime LE goes up vs a team with size it is a challenge for the Braves ... can they win - yes, are they favored - probably yes as well ... The D2 sectional is going to be interesting with Fairfield Union and Sheridan and Unioto the clear favorites
