Best type of team for a tournament run?

Strictly speaking of the type of teams that are more equipped to make a long tournament run. Would you rather have a team that has 2 big time scoring threats that average 20 a game or 4 guys that average 10+ a game?
It's really nice to have a go to scorer that you can depend on in crunch time or can go off for 35 on a particular night but it seems a more balanced team with a different scoring leader each night is harder to defend. Thoughts?

The harvest prep mold from a few years ago, defense, defense and many that can score double figures. Athletes help s bit as well.

If I could have : great defense, great rebounders, depth, high basketball IQ, great coaching and 4 scoring double figures, I would still not be totally happy. haha!

Well that's a little easier when you can recruit.

Four Double digit scorers, but; one leader who wants the ball at the end of the game.

Typically, tournament games tend to be lower scoring, defense oriented. Being able to knock down the 3 point shot is very important because so many teams play some sort of zone, forcing a team to score from the perimeter. If a team can't shoot from the arc, they put themselves in a difficult spot, especially if they have no dominant post presence.

A team like Alexander may not have to rely on perimeter shooting that much with the Terry kid in the post. Wheelersburg is another team that can present matchup problems in the paint with Truitt and McCorkle. Portsmouth, on the other hand, doesn't have a dominant post presence and must rely on pressure defense and pushing the ball up the court.

Poor FT shooting and shaky ballhandling are two things that cause teams to make an early exit from the tourney.

Seems like Terry spends more time at the elbow than down low. His impact is on the defensive end.

Fairland and peake could both make a run out of the ovc. Fairland is well coached, has bigs, can hit the 3 and doesn’t turn the ball over. Keys to success in the tournament. Peake plays a style that teams will struggle with in the 4th. So fast and up in you. I would like to say South Point but they never live up to expectations.

6’8 2000pt scorer, NCAA 1 player
6’4 Center set on kill for rebounds
6’2 PG and Ohio steals record holder
3 or 4 6’0 - 6’2 3 point snipers and defensive hustlers running a full court press.

Norms son in law at the healm

Not sure where I got the idea from but I bet it’d work

Fairland. All the kids can score. Thomas is a great leader. There defense is pretty good and if they can will slow the pace of the game way down. I think they will make a run.
