Biggest upsets at the convo this year?

Post by Tigers1234 »

I posted this once it it has been removed, surely this is permitted on this site seeing how it is a topic every year on this site and many others? People can't be this thing skinned

In your opinion what was the biggest upset in your opinion this year at this point and who do you expect to be the next?

Obviously new Boston was an upset but probably not a big upset.

I'm my opinion I think Peebles will go down next

Fairfield by 16 over New Boston takes the cake so far at the Convo.

Ironton washing away Eastern Brown by that margin is there too.

Not really any huge upsets and it’s hard to be much of an upset in the district finals

I forgotten about Ironton that was a surprise , I agree no big upsets though as I pointed out new Boston game was as much an upset as a surprise, and the score was closer then final score .

I can’t see Peebles going down. Sorry, St Joseph.

I’m on the same wavelength as fellow SEOP’er bbjunky81: Peebles will beat the East District representative.

So are you saying that Peebles is unbeatable? Let’s face it, this time of year anything can happen.

Most of the big upsets took place prior to the convo.

The biggest upsets in the Regional @ the convo will be if Harvest Prep or Hiland get beat in d3 or d4 by a SEO team in the semis. Ridgewood could go down in 3 from the East and Grandview Hts. in 4 from the Central in the reg. semis but it won't be a long shot like the first 2 mentioned above. I know all the above teams still have to win to get in but these are my early predictions. D2 is a crap shoot and toss up to me at this point.

D2 is definitely different this year.

New Philly just defeated John Glenn 46-42 tonight in their district Semi.

John Glenn led 17-0 at the end of the 1st quarter

New Philly led 21-19 at half.

St Joe has had a remarkable year. Of course! They’re probably not deep enough nor as well-oiled to go 32 minutes with Peebles, who dismantled a tough Crooksville. And generally speaking, the East District winner (it will be Hiland or Malvern) is oft a 15-20 point favorite against the SE regional entrant in the Round of 16. But I got a good feeling on Peebles, if they were to advance. As best of an opportunity from the SE District to beat the East District blue bloods as there’s been in recent years.

Don’t know how they’d do in the round of 8 against Grandview or Fisher/Fairfield or Trimble winner. One game at a time, for sure.
Just my thoughts, guys!

Trimble fans think they upset Webster.

I’d say Ironton over EB. New Boston wasn’t built for it this year

All the games have been evenly matched so far, but I think In terms of an upset I’d have to say Ironton over Eastern Brown.

Ironton over ZT will be the biggest upset in my opinion.

Cam will get his, but Ironton's overall size and strength will hurt ZT.

Agree! Look forward to a couple real good games tomorrow night. 3 OVC teams in the district final says a lot about the conference. Ironton finished 4th? I can see them playing in the region final game.

Anyone that has watched NB this year knows they escaped several games with wins that should have been losses. The caliber of team it takes to get to the state final 4 wins those games going away and doesnt let average teams hang around and most certainly dont have to play from behind against them in the 2nd half.

Those that have never seen NB play probably think they were really upset. I will admit that I was shocked at the final score, but not shocked that NB lost.

Not bashing NB as they had a good year. Just saying what most people were thinking during those games that were way closer than probably should have been this season.

I saw New Boston play 3 times and honestly thought they would go farther than they did. They had good size, shooters, depth, and athleticism. Just shows that the tournament always produces some surprises.

Swankier a 30 point thrashing isn’t what we Trimble fans call a upset, more like us Trimble fans think it was a beat down.

This is absolutely unbelievable. This had to be a fun, if not strange, game to watch.
