1,000 point would be Joe Burrow, Steve Bruning, and Griffin Lutz. Can’t remember if Don was over 1,000. Also Roger Bentley probably is the all time leading scorer but played 3 years at Chauncey and 1 at Athens. 6’7 guard that averaged 31 a game

Athens had pretty good teams back in the day so not many 3-4 year varsity players.

About two miles from The Plains, where Athens High School is located. While traveling East on 33 it is to the left when you turn right to The Plains.

All stats from old Athens to The Plains Athens were transferable, including wins & losses & league titles.
Chauncey, Plains have their own records & stats.

Chauncey is better known for Mr. BOBO that played at Ohio State. Should still be at the top of a lot of Ohio High stats.

Doesn't matter what the school says or does.
OHSAA recognizes all time wins, loss records for ALL Athens teams going back to its inception whether it was red & black Athens or green and gold.
SEOAL also recognizes wins/losses for "Athens" pre and post consolidation combined.

Ohsaa only goes by what the AD sends. Half the schools haven’t sent anything. Ironton’s fake record is still #1. Also Athens has never sent team wins records to Ohsaa. Athens baseball is probably top 5 all time if you count pre 1967

And the SEOAL is dead. It’s records are the same as the Athens county league and Southeast Ohio Buckeye League

Every single record, win, percentage, etc ... includes Athens records going back to when they first started playing basketball and holding tournaments.
We are (54-48) in sectional games. That is 102 years buddy.
Our district runner ups includes our last in 1993 and our first in 1937.
We have TWO district titles. 2013 and 1965. One team had two of the 1,000 point scorers (Griff and Joe), the other had our college basketball H.O.F in Mike Wren.

No mention of red & black Athens or green and gold Athens ... It's just "Athens".
