I 92’s Rankings and Random Thoughts...Week 7

Post by Ironman92 »

Wasn’t easy this week. Still learning about a lot of teams, along with the coaches and players still learning what they can do....but it’s feeling more and more normal.

1. Logan Elm
2. Warren Local
3. Fairland
4. Eastern Brown
5. Wheelersburg

5 tremendous teams obviously

6. Waverly
7. Jackson
8. Unioto
9. Adena

Put them how you want them.

10. Hillsboro
11. Sheridan
12. Piketon
13. Federal Hocking
14. Fairfield Union
15. Chillicothe
16. New Boston
17. South Point
18. Trimble
19. Athens
20. Ironton
21. Chesapeake
22. North Adams
23. Logan
24. McClain

25. New Lexington
26. Valley
27. Vinton County
28. Minford
29. Coal Grove

30. Portsmouth West
31. Miami Trace
32. Zane Trace
33. Marietta
34. Gallia Academy
35. Fairfield
36. Portsmouth

37. Peebles
38. Ironton St Joe
39. Meigs
40. River Valley
41. South Webster
42. Whiteoak
43. Southeastern
44. Alexander
45. Wellston
46. Western
47. Notre Dame
48. Belpre
49. South Gallia
50. Waterford
51. Crooksville

52. Westfall
53. Circleville
54. Paint Valley
55. Rock Hill
56. Northwest
57. Symmes Valley
58. Washington CH
59. West Union
60. Nelsonville
61. Lynchburg Clay
62. Oak Hill
63. Southern

64. Huntington
65. Green
66. Manchester
67. Eastern Pike
68. Eastern Meigs
69. Clay
70. Miller
71. East

Just 3 weeks ago I had Portsmouth West at #50...flying up the rankings and soon they’ll get there chance with the big boys.

Keeping my eye on: Federal Hocking, Piketon, New Lexington (huge win over Bloom Carroll)

Still trying to sort out the OVC and the middle of the TVC Ohio.

Lynchburg Clay not piling up wins but watching their scores and they are getting better and better...played a good Western Brown very well.

Several near upsets this week but the favorites found a way to get it done....but they better keep improving because those near upsets will be upsets if they don’t.

I continue to see excellent officiating. Feels like the smaller/tamer crowds are a factor.

Who is going to win this Ravens/Titans game? Me says J.K. Dobbins steals the show. Ravens 31-27

Good Luck this week to the Huntington Huntsmen, Fairfield Lions and the Circleville Tigers

Thanks for reading

I was told I was a chauvinist pig by a friend because my top 25 big hair bands were all male.

So can I edit my list to include Heart, Joan Jett and Lita Ford?

Thanks.

Oh, that pushes Europe down the list even further, btw ... lol

NY & Meigs both quarantined.

Healthy 100% Fed looks about right, today's Fed will have to keep working hard to earn that spot. Big game at Trimble Friday.

Athens to me is looking a little better. Sayers in double digits & game winner vs VC, Matters comes back with 30 vs RV Friday & didnt even play most of 4th Q. If Dogs get those two producing, Welch contribute 10/10 every night & Whiting doing his thing - they become a little more threatening to a higher seed in D2.

Belpre is the 3rd best team in Hocking.

Meigs I would not want to play as a high seed in D3.

So Belpre is better than Waterford?

100% agree with Meigs ...their strength and physicality make them dangerous for one of those 34-30 tournament game that many don’t want.

Waterford lost by almost 30 to Fed. They are having an unusually down year.

Belpre has Conner Baker, a very good 6'3 (solid) point forward type player. They are also kind of deep. Ran 9 or 10 guys onto the court in the 77-70 loss to Federal Hocking. Lost by 1 to Meigs. beat South Gallia on the road.

The Belpre getting ran off the floor by South Webster negated the tight game vs Fed Hock. The win at South Gallia meaningful. SG trying to be a higher up team and played Trimble pretty good but have lost games I thought they’d win and didn’t hold court vs Belpre.

12/1 Meigs 62-61 W
12/4 @ Fort Frye 68-51 L
12/8 @ Warren 73-39 L
12/15 @ Wellston 51-35 L
12/18 Eastern 62-41 W
12/19 Clay 67-35 W
12/29 @ South Webster 63-44 L
12/30 Federal Hocking 77-70 L
1/5 @ Trimble 66-51 L
1/8 Southern 70-44 W
1/9 @ South Gallia 58-53 W

Correct, my bad. beat Meigs.

I have no idea why Belpre drove 48576 hours to play Webster after being off for 10 days over holidays. lol

They are just inconsistent. One night they look good, other nights bad. But talent wise, 3rd best team in the Hocking.

Fed Hock at Belpre....started two freshman due to injuries and covid. Belpre is better than Waterford after seeing them both play.

We had Belpre down by 31 at one point in that game. They can’t be that good 💀

Every game matters. Every team has “those” games during the season.

D4 tourney will be silly

Fort Frye is so bad they don’t even make the end table rankings. Case closed 😎

Hahaha touche

Btw, I wasnt saying Belpre was a top team or anything. I said 3rd best in the small school Hocking Division, which overall, is pretty down this year.
