I 92’s Rankings and Random Thoughts...Week 9

Post by Ironman92 »

Some movement going on! Bunch of big games.

1. Logan Elm
2. Warren Locsl
3. Fairland
4. Wheelersburg
5. Eastern Brown

A little flip flop at 4/5...Burg beating good teams pretty easily of late gets them the small jump. Burg’s win at Waverly looking better and better but Eastern beating Hillsboro by 9 not too shabby either.

6. Waverly
7. Hillsboro

I watched both teams live this week and was equally impressed with both.

8. Sheridan

9. Unioto
10. Adena
11.Jackson

I think Unioto and Jackson are so so close and I’m putting them right in there with Hillsboro too. Very similar teams.

12. Piketon
13. Trimble
14. New Boston
15. Federal Hocking
16. South Point
17. Portsmouth West
18. Fairfield Union
19. New Lexington
20. North Adams
21. Chesapeake
22. McClain
23. Athens
24. Vinton County
25. Minford
26. Logan
27. Miami Trace
28. Marietta
29. Ironton
30. Valley
31. Coal Grove
32. Gallia Academy
33. Fairfield
34. Ironton St Joe
35. Portsmouth
36. Peebles
37. South Webster
38. Whiteoak
39. Zane Trace
40. Chillicothe

Anyone know details with Chillicothe? Missing players to quarantine? Played Lancaster and at Hillsboro pretty good then get beat bad by Miami Trace and trailed Washington by 20 in the 3rd.

41. Meigs
42. River Valley
43. Wellston
44. Western
45. South Gallia
46. Westfall
47. Waterford
48. Belpre
49. Crooksville
50. Circleville
51. Notre Dame
52. Alexander
53. Southeastern
54. Paint Valley
55. Northwest
56. Washington CH
57. Lynchburg Clay
58. Rock Hill
59. Symmes Valley
60. West Union
61. Nelsonville
62. Oak Hill
63. Huntington
64. Clay
65. Green
66. Southern
67. Eastern Pike
68. Manchester
69. Eastern Meigs
70. Miller
71. East

Home vs Away seems bigger this year even though the crowds aren’t big.

The good livestreams are worth some $

Tournament seedings in D2 are going to be extra interesting

Poor Peebles...those fans are lost without basketball

Does Pfloyd eat twizzlers while watching games on livestream?

My good luck starburst have ran their course

Good Luck this week to the Northwest Mohawks, the Southeastern Panthers and the South Gallia Rebels

Thanks for reading.

Clay travels to Huntington on Tuesday. Might be both team’s last shot at a win

Zane Trace is way to low. You have to look at who they have played non league.

I had them at 33 last week Pfloyd had them 29....they didn’t have too good of a week and have been losing a lot...yes their schedule is solid but Piketon ran away from them. I think they are pretty close to where I have them. They cracked the top 20 earlier in year but have won very little since.

I would never have guessed that Paint Valley would be ranked that low before the season

I thought they’d be around a #40 team

Hillsboro 6-0 at home and no one has finished very close. Scoring nearly 70 a game as well. Shot 28 free throws vs Jackson and 26 against Unioto. Two good defensive teams.

Two losses: by 9 at Eastern Brown in a very low scoring game and lost by 11 at Jackson in a carbon copy of Friday’s game. They are 5-2 on the road.

You left out Portsmouth East and put clay down twice. Appreciate all of the work!

About the same. Only a couple of seniors, so I expected them to be around or a little above .500 with next year being much better. I know the expectations that way were even higher though

So are you implying the officials were having a rough night those two games or Hillsboro was the only team taking the ball to the rim? I thought they were more of a 3 point shooting team feom what I have read. Just asking!

I wasn’t really saying that. Trying to say Hillsboro is tough as hell at home. They shoot decent on that terrible shooting side in their first half and then in 2nd half light it up on the better shooting background and rims. Hillsboro shot a good number of 3’s in both games. Against Jackson Hillsboro shot 7 free throws from 3 point attempts and had some near end of game in desperation time. Jackson shot 18 free throws so taking away the 3’s free throws and the late game must foul ones....dang near the same.

In the Jackson game I didn’t think either team really took it to the rim more than the other...just not what I got from that game. I just sat there thinking this game is so much like the game we played them in Jackson.

The Unioto game I watched off and on as I wasn’t home. I saw a lot of long 3’s from Unioto missing badly in the 4th. Price was way more of a factor against Unioto and Parry was against Jackson.

Had a high end crew for the Jackson/Boro game. I didn’t recognize all officials in Unioto game bu the one seems to struggle a bit when I’ve seen him over the years. Scott is a savvy guard and he won’t get some of his calls with the high end refs.....but make no mistake Ryan Scott is an excellent senior guard.

We shot around our average number of 3’s last night and much less FTs. The fact that we had more charges called on us last night than the rest of the season combined was more frustrating than the number of FTs they shot.

They did an excellent job of driving while still hitting some big 3’s, which is why they shot more FT’s, but we were still driving as well.

Unioto might have some trouble getting the seed they believe they expect due to road FAC losses but who knows as the seedings might be a crap show
