There has to be a neutral site for everyone. Lot of places don’t want to host anymore, but Athens HS for example would be good for most.

Southeastern is nicer than Athens High School.

Athens High School said NO, so did Logan, Jackson, OHIO University and many others that have any size that would allow as many fans to watch as possible. It’s not like East doesn’t hold tournaments in the far corner of their district.

True.

Logan would have been the best & most ideal.

But as Pol Pot pointed out, you gotta go where you are wanted. The others said no, what can you do?

Wondering why Logan didn't want to take any games ...

. Regionals tournaments should be much more centralized. The virus and other issues have caused the OHSAA to make these decisions. Good luck everyone 👍

In some sports there are no Regional Tournaments, you qualify at the District Level, and again, East puts things at the farthest reaches of their District for SE teams. Just get on a bus and go play.

Yeah Miami Trace to Byesville always seemed fair in track.

It’s the regionals...if Jackson makes the regionals I’d drive to Indianapolis. Let’s go!

Exactly. What's the advantage if the other school is a little closer anyway? Same amount of fans allowed in both ways so that's not it. You have to ride another hour on a bus? Who cares. It's Regionals. Quit making petty excuses and go play.

Teams like Waverly had to travel for years to that shi**hole of a baseball stadium in Zanesville for regionals. That's a pretty good haul!

SE District schools will play East District in girls regional at Zanesville. Circleville had to play Tri-Valley last year at Zanesville in a "neutral" game. Stop whining and get on the bus.

Our first time getting to the Regionals in D2 meant we got to play at that unsafe dump. Super fun.

And Stuebenville had to come to Athens, and called and complained for 3 straight days how it was not fair. Had every excuse, including the facility was not up to par.

Yeah, like buying crack around the corner from Gant is safe. Well, I'm not sure it was crack, but a drug deal definitely went down when I stopped at the gas station a few years ago after we lost in that dump/football venue they call a stadium.

I believe they have a new field behind their HS.

They have never used Zanesville High Scool Field. They use Gant Stadium where the Zanesville Pioneers play. It's not anywhere near school property.

Maybe 5-10 years ago. Thought they moved to the HS. Major leaguer Payton paid for the new field

I suppose the East District would prefer to be slotted into the regional harboring the Northeastern part of the state going forward?
