Jackson vs Gallia Academy...District Semi 3/4

Post by Ironman92 »

No love lost here. The players may not know each other much but Gallipolis and Jackson aren’t fans of each other. A couple years ago they gave us all we wanted in the sectional championship. Gallia Academy is physical and led by 6’7 monster Isaac Clary. Only a sophomore and he’s tough in the post to say the least. Gallia Academy a tough freshman guard really coming on. GA will come in expecting to win this game and they’d love to know off Jackson in Jackson...maybe even more than any other team.

This place used to get heated and very long threads between these schools back in the early days of this site. Had big league rivalries in football and then virtually every other sport they faced. Jackson and Gallia Academy were each other’s definite rival in the SEOAL

I’m going with the Ironmen. Coach Morrow and staff have done tremendous jobs over the years defending big post players. We haven’t seen Clary but we held Guthrie of MT to 3 points. I know Clary is better but Jackson seems to defend size better than guards at times.

It will be physical...it always is.

Jackson 42-37

Agree, getting better and better. I think we take this. Have better size and out perimeter is as good as Jackson’s. I really didn’t think we could score enough to beat Hillsboro but our defense has continued to improve. Jackson simply does not score well. I’ll go with the Blue Devils 46-38.

Best friends I assume. This isn’t 1975-2003...Jackson is better. We have to take advantage of this opportunity

Just watched Jackson vs Logan on YouTube. How is Jackson 16-3? The FAC must be bad. Hillsboro was 18-3? Logan had what? 3 wins OVC has us battle proven. We held Hillsboro to 45 at their place, they scored 71 on Jackson? Clary and Franklin are locked in to score 30 plus. Jackson won’t get to 40. The math says Blue Devils and I love math.

Logan only played 13 games (teams tended to cancel - not postpone - non-league games).

They played half their games without their leading scorer (he played at Jackson). Still beat VC in McArthur without him.

I haven't seen GAHS so I have no idea who will win. Should be a good one. Love seeing these rivals square off in a meaningful game.

It’s getting close! Go Ironmen!

Great opportunity for their 2nd district finals appearance in the last 3 years.

Gotta contain Clary and not give up a barrage of 3 pointers

Agree on all points. Gallia Academy will be the favorite for all the reasons you pointed out.

As a Fairland fan here, I’ve only seen Gallia. They have good height even without their Mon-star. Guards are suspect but if Jackson doesn’t have someone to bang with Gallias big boy then their in trouble.
