Congratulations to Coach Maddox & his staff, & the BBB ... outstanding 2nd half as they took everything away from the Tigers offensively while beating the pressure, finding the open man around the basket ... going into the season everything you want to build a district championship team showed on the Warrior roster - size Baumgard 6-6, Sallee 6-4, Taylor 6-4, Welch 6-3 ... depth - the Warriors go 8-9 deep AND PLAY 8 or 9 deep in their rotation ... built on the belief that defense wins championships ... AND the BBB got their leader back in PG Seth Dennis ...throw into the mix one of the best coaching staffs in SEO led by Coach Maddox - all of the ingredients an OUTSTANDING coaching staff needs to win a district crown and beyond ... last night was the proof as Warren beat an OUTSTANDING Waverly Tigers ballclub who themselves had size, get after it on defense and have probably the best offensive guard in SEO in Trey Robertson ... Robertson got his 25 points , 18 of it in the first half ...11 of it in a stretch of 3 minutes to give Waverly the lead going into the half ...in the 2nd half , Waverly's pressure defense on the perimeter put on the Warren guards would have had other opponents crumbling under it's onslaught - Warren handled it all, Dennis, Joel Chevalier handled it and made the Tigers pay with dimes + points at the other end -THAT'S what champions do ... absorb the blows, make the opponent pay - Warren with that 22-7 third quarter TOOK control ... separation , forcing the Tigers out of their game ... when a quality TEAM smells blood, sees that look in the "desperation" play of their opponent - game , set and match ... the obvious "players" that get shout outs in a big win like this is deservedly - Seth Dennis, Jake Baumgard, Joel Chevalier - outstanding ... Championship TEAMS are built on role players ... equal shout outs go to Kurt Taylor/Braydon Sallee/Josh Welch OUTSTANDING game on the boards 32-14 advantage on the boards over Waverly !!! bring in Dennis Pettey - drained a 3 ! BUT more importantly along with Joel Chevalier held Robertson to 7 points in the 2nd half by playing physical, hardnose, get after every loose ball defense - championships are won by TEAM - last night's W to advance to the Sweet 16? yeah, TEAM - last night's better TEAM got the W and are moving on ...

What 3 turnovers on about 5 possessions just on inbound passes in the 3rd? During Warrens run Waverlys defense fell apart and Warren basically shot all layups. To many bunny shots in the 2nd half given up by Waverly. Thought Trey was forcing it a bit throughout the game hope he learns from it, Warren was so focused on him when he was making that pass off the drive guys had good looks. Great season by the Tigers, I think if the tigers can find another shooter or 2 they'll be right back here next season. Congrats to Warren, honestly what I watched was just a complete overall team that played intense defense and patient offense.
Waverly was never able to play their ball and give credit to Warren for that. Warrens adjustment at halftime, down 2, made the difference in that deciding 3rd period. Something happened to Trey in the 3rd (I commented during my in game updates) that he was limping (never noticeably). Trey was on fire first half, 3 triples in the 2nd and 11 points, 18 at the break. Not sure if the injury in the 3rd, whatever it was, affected anything but he really tried to take the team on his shoulders when it was unraveling and maybe he was “forcing” things at that point but it appeared to me they were looking to him to do it.
20-4 season is still a great year and the Tigers did lose to a great experienced Warren team.
Tigers with a good nucleus coming back next year with starters Robertson, Stulley and Will Futhey - and I agree, will need a couple other good outside shooters. They lose Wheeler who was a three point threat so they need someone to replace him and a third threat would be great. Wade Futhey is a three point specialist, love to see the improvement in his game for next season. Kelly will step in as a nice guard but is more of a penetrator.
Tigers lose Brown, Wolf and Crabtree so they need to find some size. Maybe see one play who didn’t play this year and Hurd (move in from West) as a sophomore will be a nice inside body. Maybe he grows some before next year.

Congratulations to the Warren Warriors and Coach Maddox on their district championship. I miss going to Warren for the SEOAL battles. Portsmouth and Warren had some great games at the WarriorDome.

I'm quite sure that Coach Robertson and his Tigers will be back next season making a good run at an SOC II title and a district championship.

You had a good look from 60 feet away? You know for a fact he didn’t deserve the T?
GroveCity, ignore this sour ray clown, always gat to blame the officials and whine. Bottom line, my Warriors just took his Tigers to the woodshed so he’s got to look for excuses and someone to blame.
No whining at all. Comment made in the speed of the action and stand by it. He may have made a comment as the official went running by him but there was no irate arguing going on.
And it had no impact on the outcome of the game or I would have had more to say about it.
Congratulations to Warren in the win, 3rd quarter 22-7 made the difference.
You were all the way across the floor, a full 55’-60’ away. On the other end, aren’t you sitting at the table? That means technically you should be neutral and not bashing officials on a message board. Be professional, do your job.

Nope, not sitting at the table at all. Must have me mixed up with somebody else. And even if I was sitting at the table I was not “bashing” anyone. I could have said more but simply stated Travis wasnt irately arguing anything. And if you read what I said I did state Travis may have said something that official didn’t like as he ran by - AND THE “T” HAD NO IMPACT ON THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME. I was not bashing anyone - no clue what you are talking about.
