I 92’s Rankings and Random Thought...The Final

Post by Ironman92 »

The whole season mattered and tournament added in. I felt D2 and D3 had a bit of a gap between them and D4.

1. Wheelersburg
2. Warren Local
3. Fairland
4. Eastern Brown
5. Unioto
6. Waverly
7. Logan Elm
8. Adena
9. Sheridan
10. Jackson
11. Hillsboro
12. New Boston

13. Piketon
14. Portsmouth West
15. South Point
16. Trimble
17. Gallia Academy
18. North Adams
19. New Lexington
20. Fairfield Union
21. Valley
22. Federal Hocking
23. McClain
24. Athens
25. Vinton County
26. Minford

27. Ironton
28. Peebles
29. Logan
30. Fairfield
31. Marietta
32. Miami Trace
33. Whiteoak
34. Coal Grove
35. Ironton St Joe
36. Portsmouth
37. Chesapeake

38. Alexander
39. Meigs
40. Zane Trace
41. Western
42. South Webster
43. Wellston
44. South Gallia
45. River Valley
46. Chillicothe
47. Westfall
48. Northwest
49. Waterford
50. Belpre

51. Crooksville
52. Lynchburg Clay
53. Notre Dame
54. Paint Valley
55. Washington CH
56. Rock Hill
57. Southeastern
58. Circleville
59. Symmes Valley
60. Eastern Pike

61. Huntington
62. Oak Hill
63. Clay
64. Nelsonville
65. West Union
66. Green

67. Southern
68. Manchester
69. Eastern Meigs
70. Miller
71. East

Some great tournament runs by New Boston, Burg, Warren Local, Fairland, Unioto and Timble. Brutal and heartbreaking losses by Burg and Warren Local. Unioto and New Boston really had their chance in their losses. Tremendous seasons and hopefully the SE District teams can all be on the good end of those deep tournament tight games.

Real nice tourney run by Gallia Academy, Fairfield, Valley and Peebles.

The FAC and TVC Ohio stunk in the tourney.

Sectionals at home felt strange but kinda cool too....gimme back sectional sites tho

I still say the way teams guard the mid range is open but whatever

Refs had a good year

Hopefully my last game ever wearing a mask.

Go Reds, don’t suck.

Thanks for reading this season!

I’ll only argue the Sectional thoughts, just because I think it’s a good reward for a good season to host at that point.

I get why folks like the sectional sites though.

The best thing of this season? The SVC finally decided to amend the league schedule this past week beginning in 22-23. Back to backs in league play are gone!

Good stuff I92 ! glad you joined the fray this Covid Season with your rankings - I hope you continue down the road in the seasons to come ... if life makes a turn and the Pfloyd Elite 8 goes away the I92 Rankings will continue to provide a great starting point for conversation ... missed being able to chat this season ! ... I'll be working all summer at school so getting out to see this summer's hoops season probably not happening BUT you never know ... take care of yourself my friend ...

I just don’t like a team like Sheridan having to play a tournament game at the site of the team just above them. Needs to be neutral. I’m ok with sectional semis being at host school but still prefer sectional site.

We will talk next year...in person. You’ll be out and I’ll be around. You have a spot saved for you in Jackson and superintendent might escort you in. LucasD on the other hand 🤦🏻‍♂️...he basically turned out to be the Gallia Academy 6 man. I’m not sure he’ll be back 😁

The Jeeps should be a good watch next year and years to come.

Preseason #17 for next year...I expect near top 10 by season’s end

Unioto was probably better than Warren for top D2 school in the area

Maybe so....if not for two terrible losses they might’ve been 1 or 2

That’s generous of you. I’m expecting another solid sub 500 season next year and the same people to chime in about how we have just average players and what did I realistically expect.

Basketball culture is dead in this town.

I still think with a healthy Little we end up 14-0 in league and make a potential final 4 run in D2. On the flip side him not being healthy for that stretch may have helped fuel our tournament run so 🤷‍♂️

Ironman92: Congratulations to you and your Ironmen on winning the FAC. Jackson basketball has definitely taken a big step up the last couple of years.

And I PROMISE.......to not complain about your or pfloyd's rankings next season. Realistically, it will probably be the 2022-23 season before I can talk winning basketball at Portsmouth again.

The SE district had a good run in state tournament play from 2006--2009, with 3 state champions.......South Webster in 2006, Chillicothe in 2008, and Oak Hill in 2009. Since that time, the SE district has played 10 games in the state with a 1-9 record in semifinal games. Logan Elm in 2009, Chesapeake in 2010, Portsmouth in 2011 and 2012, Warren and Ironton in 2013, Lynchburg Clay in 2016, Fairland in 2017, Sheridan in 2019, and New Boston in 2021. Only Portsmouth had the lone win in the semifinals, beating Ottawa-Glandorf 74-66 in 2012.

Hopefully next season normalcy will return....... no masks, more fans, more games, and a return to the Convo for the district and regional tournaments.

Max should have never given me that ticket.

Worst coaching decision he made all year
