No one in DIII can compete with the Columbus private schools. Burg has been the best shot the last few years and the closest they have gotten over the last 4 years was this years 50-47 loss to Worthington Christian.

Wheelersburg has definitely been the most competitive SE program vs. the Central District recently in the Athens regional, but the CD schools can't wait to get to the regionals at the Convo. The Burg was undefeated in 2019 and lost to Harvest Prep (tied in the 4th quarter) in the regional final, and this year lost to state runnerup Worthington Christian by 3. Before that, Portsmouth lost to Columbus Eastmoor Academy 49-45 (PHS led in the 4th quarter) in the 2015 regional final. Lucasville Valley lost to Columbus Bishop Ready 38-33 (Valley scored 0 points in the 2nd quarter) in the 2014 regional final.

Next season, it will probably be the same setup, with the Central sending a team to Athens, but will there be anybody to end the domination that the CD has over the SE district in D3? It's almost a guarantee that the Central team will be the favorite to win the regional again based on previous results.

The reality is though, that with the movement of players from this school to that school, someone can get very good in 1 year. If it's good enough to topple the Central District, we will have to wait and see.

D4 I believe if Whiteoak has a good chance of being extremely competitive returning 5 starters should be able to count on there bench much more this next year if they work this summer might need to watch out for the Wildcats

Yes they will, they have some great young talent. If they had some more size down under they could be really good.
Northwest played them early in the year. Very fundamentaly sound, Barnett and Ashbaugh I believe was his name are really nice players. They have some really nice role players also.

Someone from Piketon. I think Unioto’s got the pipeline from Piketon like the Streaks have always had from Eastern and Western. The first one worked out, so why not get more?

As long as Matt Hoops is at Unioto they will be a team to beat. My kids played at ZT and have enjoyed the battles with them.
