Tuesdays game in New Boston was 72-44 Notre Dame. Tonight's game, down on Sunrise was a little closer as the Tigers slowed the game down. It was 19-19 at the half. The Titans pulled away in the final minutes of the game.

Notre Dame improves to 8-6, 6-4 in SOC1. The Tigers fall to 5-9, 4-5.

Notre Dame won the JV game.

New Boston travels up to Stewart in Athens County tomorrow evening to meet the Federal Hocking Lancers who are 12-3 on the year tomorrow evening. Federal Hocking defeated the South Gallia Rebels tonight 74-64.

Notre Dame hosts the Manchester Greyhounds 4-11 on 2/1. Manchester's game with Whiteoak tonight was postponed.

Notre Dame scoring: Strickland 16, Metzler 14, Seison 13, Sparks 12, Powell 9, Barbarits, Hadsell and Edginton 2 each.

New Boston scoring: Beasley and Dalton Jackson 12 each, Allard and Voiers 6 each, Grady Jackson 4, Brady and Rivers 2 each.

Stewart Federal Hocking Lancers 61
New Boston Glenwood Tigers 40

The Tigers made the 85 mile trip up to Athens County to meet the Lancers in McInturf Gymnasium. The Lancers handed the Tigers their 10th loss of the season. After one quarter it was 15-6 FH, at the half 32-21. The Tigers pulled within 2 at about the 3:00 mark of the second quarter at 21-19,but could not overcome the Lancers. The third quarter ended at 43-31 and the final 61-40.

Federal Hocking won the JV game 47-27.

Federal Hocking improves to 14-3 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 5-10.

Next up for New Boston is Tuesday 2/1 at Minford. The Falcons are 12-3. The Lancers are at Waterford on Tuesday. The Wildcats are 12-5.

Scoring for the Lancers: Chapman 15, Crockwell 13, Rogers and Cottrill 7 each, Airhart 6, Smith 4, McVey 3, Ward, Miller and McCune 2 each.

Scoring for the Tigers: Grady Jackson led the scoring with 21, followed by Myles Beasley with 8.

The Glenwood at Minford game tomorrow will start at 5:00 with the freshmen game followed by the JV and Varsity.

New Boston jumped out to leads of 12-3 and 14-5 before the Falcons caught up at 16-16 with :50 to go in the first Quarter. The Falcons led after one at 19-16, 43-22 at the half, 70-36 after three and the final 77-49.

Zimmerman led all scorers with 21 for Minford, followed by Crnak and Montgomery with 21 each. Grady Jackson led NB with 20.

Jv
Minford 63
New Boston Glenwood 24

Minford led 19-6 after one, 30-10 at the half, 51-20 after three and the final 63-24.

Freshmen
Minford 48 (Downey with 30 points)
New Boston Glenwood 21

Minford led 16-7 after one, 32-14 at the half, 36-18 after three and the fianl48-21.

Minford improves to 14-3 and are 9-3 in SOCII. The Tigers drop to 5-11, 4-5 in SOC1.

New Boston goes to Ironton to meet the St.Joe Flyers in their "Flyer Dome" on Friday. The Flyers are 6-7, 4-5 in SOC1. Minford travels over to Beaver to face the Eastern Eagles who are 5-11, 2-7 in SOCII.

Eastern Pike takes a loss 73-32 to Waverly tonight and Ironton St.Joe lost to the Green Bobcats 66-54.

The New Boston Glenwood game at Ironton St.Joe scheduled for this evening has been postponed with no makeup date scheduled.

Next game for the Tigers is Monday 2/7 as the Flyers will be coming to New Boston in a Varsity only game. The Lady Tigers will be playing the Green Lady Bobcats at 6:00 at New Boston followed by the SJ/NB boys game.

St.Joe's visit to the Den was successful as the Flyers defeated the Tigers. SJ led after one at 12-11. The Tigers led at the half 26-23. The Flyers led after three at 42-37 and the final 59-48.

No JV game was played.

Ironton St.Joe improves to 8-7, 6-5 in SOC1 play. The Tigers drop to 5-12, 4-6.

Next up for New Boston is tomorrow night as they host the league leading Symmes Valley Vikings 14-2, 9-1. The Flyers are scheduled to host Grace Christian on 2/8.

The Vikings invaded Homer Pelligrinon Gymnasium this evening with the hot hand and defeated the Tigers with the running clock. Symmes Valley led at all stops. The score was 20-8 after one, 37-13 at the half, 54-27 after three and the final 74-40.

Grady Jackson led the Tigers with 26 points on his way to achieving the 1,000 point mark with 7:03 to go in the final stanza.

The Jv game went to the Vikings also. It was 14-3 after one, 26-15 at the half, 48-22 after three and the final 58-22.

The Tigers slip to 5-13 and 4-7 in conference play. The Vikings improve to 15-2 and lead the conference with a 10-1 mark.

Next up for the Tigers is Friday as they host the Green Bobcats 6-11, 5-5. Saturday the Tigers go to Sciotoville 3-11, 1-10. Symmes Valley hosts the Clay Panthers on Friday and travel to Western Pike on Saturday in an important make up game for first place in the SOC1.

Green 60

After 8 straight losses the Tigers put together a victory over the Bobcats in the "Den". Green had defeated New Boston earlier in the year 64-57 in Franklin Furnace. This time around the Tigers jumped out to a 16-0 lead before Green scored. After one it was Tigers 22-4, at the half 40-18, after three 54-39 and the final 80-60.

Sampson of Green had a game high 33 points.

The Tigers had balanced scoring: Grady Jackson 24, Myles Beasley 23 and Brady Voiers 20.

The rest of the scoring to follow.

New Boston also won the two quarter JV game 26-19. It was 11-10 Tigers after one.

The Tigers improve to 6-13 and 5-7 in SOC1. Green slips to 7-13 and 6-7.

New Boston is at 4-13, 1-10 Sciotoville tomorrow 2/12 in a make up game. Tuesday 2/15 the Tigers go to 8-7, 6-5 Ironton St.Joe in a Division IV Sectional Tournament game.

Green hosts the 5-15 Manchester Greyhounds on 2/15 in the Sectional Tournament.

New Boston Glenwood 74
Sciotoville 38

New Boston made the short trip to Sciotoville tonight and came away with the win. It was 21-7 after one, 31-16 at the half, 55-26 after three and the final 74-38.

Mark Rivers tallied 23 rebounds, 7 blocks and 9 points for the Tigers. Luke Henson had a career high of 13 points, 5 steals and 6 rebounds. Additional scoring to follow.

The JV game was won by the Tartans 65-48 in a foul fest with 46 fouls called. The score was 17-14 Tigers after one, 38-29 Tartans at the half, 58-35 Tartans after three and the final 65-48.

New Boston improves to 7-13 overall and 6-7 in SOC1 play. The Tartans are 4-14 and 1-13.

The Tigers play Tuesday 2/15 in the Sectional Tournament at Ironton St.Joe. SJ is 8-8 overall and defeated the Tigers in NB earlier this week 59-48.
The winner of that game goes to Valley to face the Indians who are 17-4.

Sciotoville hits the road also on Tuesday in Tournament action at Whiteoak who is 9-9. The winner of that game will travel up to Federal Hocking 16-4 on 2/18.

Eleven days ago it was the Flyers over New Boston in NB 59-48. This time around in the "Flyer Dome" in the Sectional Semi-Final contest, it was the Tigers over St.Joe. New Boston led after one at 14-7, at the half 28-15, after three 42-33 and the final 64-53. SJ got within 4 points at 37-33 with 1:00 to go in the third quarter.

New Boston improves to 9-12, while St.Joe slips to 8-11.

The victory for the Tigers also counted in the SOC1. NB ends conference play at 7-7, while SJ ends at 6-8.

The Tigers now advance to the Sectional Finals at #2 seed Valley who is 17-4 on the year. That game is scheduled for Friday, 2/18 in Lucasville.

Scoring for the Tigers: Grady Jackson 29 points, Beasley 15 points and 13 rebounds, Allard 11 points, Rivers 7 points and 19 rebounds and 10 blocks, Voiers 2 points.

Scoring for the Flyers: Rowe 20, Mahlmeister 8, Coleman 7, Brown 6, McCloud 5, Johnson 4 and Neal 3.

Valley Indians 78
New Boston Glenwood Tigers 46

The Tigers season came to an end tonight in the Sectional Final at Valley High School.

The Valley Indians 18-4, now advance to District play at Wellston High School on 2/26 at 6:00 vs the South Webster Jeeps 17-7 . South Webster defeated the Peebles Indians this evening.
