Roundtown Tigers traveled down Rt 23 to Kinnikinnick to take on the VC Vikings ... on paper, and taking into account recent hoops history Coach Combs' VC gang should have left with an opening game W ... as the game started it looked both on paper and on the scoreboard like Circleville would be 0-1 to start the new season and VC on the good side of 1-0 ... the Vikings looked to take control early with solid play from Zayne Karr (4pts) , Eli Radabaugh (7 pts) a triple from Braylon Damron and a 2 down low from Ashton Allman ... on the Tigers side Coach Carpenter's boys showed lots of energy but little as far as points on the board - Winston Jones 4 pts/ Briley Cramer 2 ... Vinton County 16 Circleville 6 after 1 ... quarter 2 had the Roundtown crew at least holding their own as 3 more Tigers added their names to the napkin stat sheet - Craig Fleck dropped 6 points, Trevor Coleman a deuce and off the bench Matt Bradley added 2 points ... Vinton County was getting contributions from players we all look to push the scoreboard numbers - a pair of treys from Damron (6 pts), the big man in the middle Asa Davidson(4 pts) had a pair of a the rim buckets and Mr. Consistent Zayne Karr with a drive to the rim for 2 more ... VC only 1/4 from the free throw line in the 4th) ... Circleville took their first lead at the 3:14 mark on FTs from Parker Kidwell 43-42 CHS ... Roundtown never relinquished the lead ... it was tied at 45-45 with :42.7 to play ... 47-45 CHS at :33.2 ... 49-48 at :11.2 ... the block at the rim by the Tiger D, followed a FT make and a miss by Kidwell ... 50-48 ... a clean block on a final 3 ball attempt as time ran out to preserve the W for Coach Carpenter's Tiger ...
