McClain beat Miami Trace by 30 tonite in Eber. Badgeley had 26, Toney 21. Defense solid as usual. I believe they clinched the FAC tonite. Well deserved honor for the 8 seniors on this team.

It’s shaping up to be a dog fight in D2. Waverly is gonna be as battled tested as anyone. Sheridan, FU, McClain, Washington, and Logan Elm all play in very good leagues. Warren is starting to develop some guard play to go along with their outstanding bigs. Vinton always comes prepared with Combs at the helm. Gonna be interesting how the SE district plays out.

Will the FAC team up to position McClain the 1 seed or award Waverly for their non league schedule?

They’ll all be on their own a bit trying map out how to face Vinton County….and then avoiding Waverly in the next round.

Don’t get mad at me for saying it….VC is solid and can score the ball, top notch coach. But I believe this. Of that Warren Local, Logan Elm, Fairfield Union, Washington, Sheridan, New Lexington, Vinton County cluster……,teams are going to be mapping out VC…..and Coach Combs will have the chip inserted and have his team ready.

My honest thoughts.

While I believe the Tigers have earned the number one seed, will their quality non league losses (UA and Newark) be overshadowed by having only 6 victories against teams that have winning records.

Coaches will bond together and do their thing. Everyone will be avoiding Waverly whatever that may entail.
