Finally! Lol

You need to read my last post on the TVC thread about Ohio & Hocking teams. Personally, I think all three top Hocking teams should be above anyone in the Ohio. Numbers dont lie.

South Point is as good as anybody in the SE District. They should be 2, at the lowest.

Just a heads up, Westfall is actually 6-4! Wins over Southeastern, Circleville, New Hope, Huntington, Adena, and Unioto! Last night was a huge win over a good Unioto team!

Kinda went through one in my head….very very tough this week.

Jackson a bit high I think. I feel all 3 teams behind Symmes Valley would beat them but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thought Clay beat East but impossible to find those scores unless really looking, and I didn’t.

North Adams showing signs that could move them up a bit.

As a whole this seems to be as weak of a district as I can remember.

Wow!!! ... the Cavs have Logan, Hillsboro & Warren ALL this week, ALL at home in Chillicothe ... we will see the impact immediately ...

Can someone post the Chillicothe roster with numbers please ... I wanted to drive to the Valley vs Waverly game but on a school night not a feasible drive down and back in reasonable time BUT Chillicothe vs Logan THAT will happen ...

I know the SVC is pretty down as a whole, but I can’t imagine 48 teams being better than Westfall. A true TEAM who is very undersized, but they share the ball well and find the hot hand.

They’ll have some losses along the way, but nobody is going to be thrilled to game plan for them in a sectional final with all of the quality guards they have.

Not just saying this because they put it on us for the second straight year at WF, but from the scouting and video on them too.

Big games this week!!! :

Tuesday 1/11 -

Chesapeake vs South Point
Chillicothe (with Galloway) vs Logan
Fairland (Aiden Porter within 4 points of becoming the all time leading scorer for Fairland hoops) vs Ironton
Hillsboro vs Eastern Brown
Jackson vs Alexander
Fairfield Union vs Bloom Carroll ... FU played a very very good Bishop Ready to only a 6 point loss ... BC is outstanding this season, FU increased it's stock even in losing to Reading this past weekend ...
Notre Dame vs Symmes Valley ... SV is one of the best rebounding teams in SEO ... outscored Valley in the 2nd half at the Ironton Classic ...
Lucasville Valley vs Waverly - THE biggest game in SEO for the 2022 portion of the season ...

Friday 1/14 -

Chillicothe vs Hillsboro
Athens vs Alexander
Jackson vs Miami Trace
South Webster vs Portsmouth West
Trimble vs Federal Hocking
Western Pike vs Notre Dame
Westfall vs Piketon

Saturday 1/15 -

Chillicothe vs Warren
Logan vs Parkersburg South

Unioto vs Piketon

Dave Young Classic (Honoring Coach Dave Young and Matt Orin)

1st game tips off at 11:45

West Union vs Adams County Christian
Ripley vs Western Pike
Whiteoak vs Georgetown
Eastern Brown vs Chesapeake
North Adams vs South Point

West Union should get a win

Ripley and WP could be a good game

Eastern and Peake should be good

NA improving but not sure they are ready for SP…..but it’s their house! $100 fine if you get tossed folks 😁

It looks like the weather is going to hold up for Saturday, the pfloyd tour will try to make the 2:15 minute drive to North Adams High School for the first time since the Dave Young Classic's inception ... the weather in the past has not been cooperative - no snow, no ice - hoops all day ... going to be a long drive BUT to honor Coach Young and pay tribute to Matt Orin - it will be worth the drive ...

... I get it, but they are ranked above all of the teams they have beaten ( Southeastern/Circleville/New Hope/Huntington/Adena) other than Unioto and below all of the teams they have lost to Amanda/Zane Trace/Paint Valley and Logan Elm ... what I do is put an asterisk beside them on the big board, they need to beat some of the other teams above them in the rankings ... I also pay attention to the scores when they lose vs higher ranked teams but play them close (ie. Fairfield Union losing to a darn good Bishop Ready squad - only 5 points ) not scientific but it's what I do ...

... a good week of hoops ! hopefully Covid doesn't interrupt the game menu ... the pfloyd tour this week will be cruising to Chillicothe on Tuesday night for Logan @ Chillicothe, Friday night heading for Trimble HS to catch Coach Howie Caldwell's Tomcats at full strength vs Federal Hocking to see who will sit a top the TVC Hocking ... then Saturday 6 games at the Coach Young Classic at North Adams high school ... I've always wanted to go but for one reason or another I haven't made the 2 hour 15 minute trip ... this year as always the classic honors one of the best to ever sit courtside in SEO Coach Dave Young - over 400 wins in his coaching career ... this year's classic which I believe is the 10th year (2013) for the Classic will also have the Split the Pot to benefit the family of Matt Orin, long time official in the SE District ...

My Coach Young story ... pfloyd - a nobody - was sitting in the stands at the Beasts of the Southeast at Chesapeake High School when Coach Young came up into the Cheap Seats to give me a North Adams basketball T-shirt and talk hoops ... Coach Young told ME how much he appreciated all I did for high school basketball in SE Ohio ... Matt Orin simply was one of the best officials in SEOhio gone much to soon ... again - I, pfloyd, am nobody ... yet Matt & his crew would always have kind words for me every where I would run into them ... all of the crews - especially those who are the best of the best who get to the Convo and beyond have always given pfloyd a shoutout - which is greatly appreciated ... so the Coach Young Classic is an event I WANT TO GET TO THIS WEEK for many reasons ...
