Normally it is a 6:00 start for the JV, and 7:30 for the varsity. Has that changed?

Portsmouth trailed Gallia Academy 40-32 after a Zach Loveday dunk, but the Trojans went on a 17-2 run to go on to a 65-53 win @GAHS. The Blue Devils were trailing 32-27, then went on a 13-0 run to take that 8 point lead. PHS answered with their run, scoring in a variety of ways either in the half court offense with some nice assists, some threes, or quick baskets off forced turnovers.

DeAndre Berry scored 20 points for the Trojans, while Kenny Sanderlin added 18. Daryionne Bryant also had double figures as well. What was encouraging was that Portsmouth was an outstanding 11-12 from the FT line.

With the win, the Trojans are 7-8 overall, 4-6 in the OVC, and are assured of a winning road record in the conference, having beaten Gallia Academy, Rock Hill, South Point, and Coal Grove all at their gyms. At 4-2, the only road game left for PHS is at Ironton next Friday.

Portsmouth upped its series standing vs. GAHS to 45-17 in favor of the Trojans.
