Some big changes in D2 as Akron SVSM moves up to D1. Locally it looks like Ironton, Alexander, Morgan, and Zanesville all go to D2 as well.Valley moves up to D3 it looks like, any other local teams in different divisions I missed?

As far as D4 to D3 jumps. I noticed Valley and Peebles will be making the jump. IMO Valley should of done more than just 1 district title in D4, but having 3 coaches in 4 years didn't help either. I compare the Norm Persin hire to the Urban Meyers to Jacksonville Jaguars hire.

Valley to D3 definitely hurts their chance at a state run. They would have been one of the favorites in the region in D4, but D3 has better teams locally and then you have Harvest/Africentric/Worthington Christian and the other privates coming down for the regional.

Football cut Ironton's throat for basketball by having to move to D -2. It'll be a short season come tournament time

Maybe, maybe not. Tiger hoops had a nice summer, and will feature at least six guys 6-3 or taller. One of those is 6-3 shooting guard Braden Schreck, a rising sophomore and legit college prospect.

D2 much tougher than D3 most years. Only break would be if D2 now gets two teams through districts.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if D3 is deeper overall this year, a lot of the better D2 teams in the district lost the majority of their starters. When do we find out if D2 gets two district champs?

I believe the eastern district will have 2 teams to regionals. Zanesville and 1-2 other teams are now D-2.

Not sure, but this sounds like a parent talking ,but that's fine that's what parents do.

My kids graduated from Hurricane HS in WV 15 years ago, buddy. It’s too early to tell if my 9 month old grandson is a prospect.

The neat thing about being a grandparent is that you can relive the glory (real or imagined) of your lost youth through the exploits of your grandchildren. It is all good.
