Let’s talk players. List the projected top 10 players in SOC 1, add your top 3 sleepers as well.

Do you think greens starters could all be in top ten soc 1 players?

I have been a long time follower of Pike County athletics and wish Western the best of luck this season however if they are the clear favorites this year it really shows how down the SOC I will be this season. This years team in Latham will be much less talented than the teams they have had the last several years. Haggy, Janes, and Carter are a decent trio but I would think Green or St Joe would have players that can hold their own against these 3, and as far as the other two kids Western will start I really have no idea based off last year I saw no one ready for varsity time. Western is well coached and I’m sure will play hard though which can make up for some of that. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out this season.

SOC 1 runs through Western, but ISJ will have something to say about that.

1. Western- Carter and Hagy are a tough duo. Carter is tough to stop downlow and can step outside and knock down a 3. Hagy just flat out gets after it
2. ISJ- new additions again. A lot of hype, but we will see.
3. ND- Young guards (Barbarits & Bradford) but Sparks and Metzler are tough inside along with Carter to bang. May struggle early but look for them to be scary 2nd part of season. Can finish 3-5
4. Green- New Coach and return everyone. Can finish 2-4. Sampson possible SOC I POY. Will they actually run an offense or will they just depend on Sampson to score
5. SV- Lost a lot but they always seem to surprise every year.
6. NB- Lost their main scoring threat of Jackson. Beasley and Allard are back but don't think their returning pieces are enough to win the SOC.
7. East- Just not basketball guys. They will be tough at home but don't see them winning. May surprise some but just don't see it.
8. Clay- Losing Balestra will hurt a lot due to depth and experience. Loper will do what he can but not enough scoring or ball handlers.

I think it will come down to Western and ISJ for the title. ND or Green might be able to play spoiler. Is Metzler healthy?

Less than a month away now and it's time to get excited! In my opinion, this year the league will be as deep as it has ever been. Five teams have a legitimate shot to win the league and make tournament runs. I don't think anybody makes it out of the regular season with less than a couple losses in league.

It's hard this year to project 1-8. You could see any of the top 5 win it and then you have the bottom three who will compete with each other. So to me it looks more like this (lol):

1a - Saint Joe
1b - Notre Dame
1c - New Boston
1d - Green
1e - Western
2a - Symmes
2b - East
2c - Clay
