They played well in the scrimmage last Saturday against Teays Valley Christian and Wesley Christian. That is the only scrimmage they have had. I am sure they are more focused on the tough SOC1 league right now than anything else. They should be good but have a very tough schedule.

They've been the most hyped up team in the offseason that's for sure. You'd think all 8-9 players they rotate in could start for any team in SEO.

Anxious to see how they perform against local opponents.

I don't think any of that talk is coming from St.Joe. ISJ will be solid and have a shot at winning the SOC1. As far as winning anything else or 8 or 9 guys starting anywhere is people just stirring the pot. Good luck to the Flyers !!!

What does this mean? New Boston Glenwood has nothing to do with this thread.

This is exactly right! Nobody at St. Joe is talking like this. We simply posted a scrimmage result and it led to all of this. The Flyers are not boasting or looking ahead. Just looking forward to a tight competitive league that should be a lot of fun this season.

Humbleness is exactly what Is expected from an elite program. Awesome!!! Can’t wait to see them in action tomorrow with the Hornets!

How did scrimmage go tonight? I heard Coal Grove was missing 5 or 6 varsity players due to football.

The hornets short handed but handled the flyers easily. Owen Johnson is a solid baller and st Joe had no answer. Just a scrimmage but definitely not what was expected.

You mean they can beat a National program with multiple D1 recruits but can’t beat Coal Grove who didn’t even have half their team?

Crazy. Full moons got this whole world out of whack.

The Flyers had a bad night shooting and played poorly.

Varsity scores were: 13-8 CG, 21-12 CG, 11-4 ISJ, and 12-11 CG 50-42 total. The remaining periods they mixed JV with Varsity. CG had a better night shooting, played hard and were well coached. Hunter Staton had 15, Kai Coleman had 10, and Erikai Jackson had 9 to lead the ISJ in those 4 periods. As poorly as ISJ shot the ball, (under 25%) I am happy it was as close as it was most periods. The first two periods were terrible and then they were mostly even. Coal Grove is a good team with a great shooter and should have a good season. On to the next one for ISJ. At the OVC preview Friday and at Fairland Saturday.

Good luck this year to the Hornets!

I was told CG only had two out, one might be a varsity starter. We had one varsity player out playing football for Ironton. Not sure where you’re getting 5 or 6.

You guys do realize that these are scrimmage games? Not actual games, saying that ISJ beat a national program and hyping that up to a “Win” is just ridiculous, now you could say that they did in fact out play them for 2 10:00 running clock qtrs but this does not equate to a win, as for coal grove they have a solid team, and shot very well, come regular season play this would be a very competitive matchup. ISJ has a very different look with a lot of new players including some really young guys that got mixed in a lot. It’s just surprising that people want to speculate and criticize teams and players over a few qtrs of play in scrimmage games when this is actually the time to see what combos work with new players learning how to play in a new system with each other seriously people let it play out before we talk about dynasties full moons, the stars aligning and someone winning a game, you do understand that you guys are the ones hyping up the smallest school in the state of Ohio with measly 40 total high school students (boys and girls combined) Now let’s return to this thread say after 6-8 games into the regular season and reevaluate.

Scrimmage game are definitely no indication on how the regular season will go. Both teams will finish middle of the pack within their conference’s.
