... through the first week of the regular season the Warren Warriors have checked off a bunch of boxes in answering some pre-season questions ... perimeter scoring? youngsters (9 sophomores/1 junior/1 senior) making up the varsity team? can they compete with the size, strength, quickness, speed of the varsity game? ... based on 2 games - the Warren Warriors are just fine ... the youngsters play as a TEAM , the perimeter scoring IS there, depth is not an issue as WHS goes 9-10 deep , size? strong, 6-2/6-4/6-7 size - the BIGS dropped 29 points in this one ... the bench of sophomores put up 28 points vs Belpre ... the sophs as a group ? 65 points vs the Belpre varsity ... in learning one takes their lumps, I'm sure the Warrior youngsters will have some "learning moments" but it IS a given they WILL learn and be a better TEAM coming out the other end of the moments ...

Thought Belpre played tough the first half and just sort've got worn out down the stretch. During those stretches in the 2nd and 3rd quarter when Taylor was out with foul trouble others stepped up and weathered any run Belpre tried to make including a big 3rd quarter by Wells where he scored 3 or 4 baskets in a row. I think as the season progresses we're going to need that kind of depth and other kids will have to step up because of the aggressive style of defense we play will undoubtly get us into foul trouble at one point or another. 3 tough games in a row starting tomorrow with New Lex, Morgan, and Linsly who has 3 kids over 6'7.
