Agreed...early returns on Prater look really promising for Burg. Better get them this year because they are trending upwards talent-wise. I see them finishing around 13-9, and being that 7-10 seed that nobody will want to face in D3 tourney (just as we saw last year).*

Burg is a very solid D3 team. Only questionable loss was on the road at Eastern but heck Valley lost there too so it's obviously a tough place to play.

Tonight will be a great test for Burg but win or lose they'll gain something from it. Minford has been putting it on just about everyone they've played so as long as Wheelersburg keeps it competitive and is in the game then that will be a plus for them moving forward.

Burg was impressive tonight at Minford. Great game plan and hustle that made up the difference in size and talent. Burg has 2 great young freshman that will be an impact for the future. The team hasn’t missed a beat with a new coach and rebuilding the team. Such a quality program!

Burg just doesn't have a *guy* to take games over like Montgomery. Have to find a way to close these games that are tight in the last seconds.

Minford is a heck of a team, and definitely was the favorite last night. Hate saying this but guess you can call it moral win vs Minford -- really wish Burg would have come away with a win in that one. Any chance at an SOC title is now off the table essentially.

I've seen several teams play now in our area, and burg is just as competitive as the rest of them. It's going to be hard for any team to win the district but I son't see anyone contending for the region yet.

Burg looks to be a lock for 2nd place SOC. I am beginning the think these guys could win district.

Burg is looking good in time for tournaments. Good to see Coach Prater doing well. He has surrounded himself with assistants that have a lot of basketball knowledge. The Pirates are a good ball club. They have some young players that should be forces for them in the coming years. Looking for them to make a good tournament run. Good Luck Coach Prater & Pirates!

... I was doodling looking at the tournament brackets, jotted down those teams that I felt could make noise in the post season - Wheelersburg is THAT team that I think can make a deep run in the one and done season ... strong/physical team across the board ... I think I posted it when they played the OT game @ Minford - they play physical but it is still basketball not just bullying - if that makes sense ... I like Burg in their part of the bracket to be in the district finals ...

I'm going to agree with you Pfloyd. Wheelersburg has the players and coaching to make the deep run when it counts. I've given them credit all season that when it comes to crunch time, I felt the Pirates would pull together and make it happen. I am really surprised they didn't pull out the W against Minford. I think it'll be a different game Friday night. IMO Wheelersburg did get a good tournament draw. They should make a good run in the post season.
