Hate it for Northwest as that group did big things in junior high together, but hasn’t been able to replicate that success at high school level for various reasons. Northwest still can win the new SOC basketball division even without Lintz. It just became a heck of a lot tougher though.

As for Lintz, I honestly don’t know where/if he starts at Ironton in football. Basketball, he probably gets Ironton to D2 Districts alongside Schreck and Terry.*

Receiver. I would think it's going to be hard getting touches with what Ironton already has at that position.

Interesting. I heard that awhile back but then I heard it wasn’t true and just a rumor. But lintz going doesn’t make sense at all. I mean he’s a pretty good athlete but going for football? I thought his sport is basketball. Good luck to him. I guess he’s got an apartment in Ironton. Unless his family moved.

Anyone know what SOC 1,2,3 league schedules will look like?

Basketball is easier to fill - has anyone heard what they will be doing with baseball (with only 6 teams per conference, that makes only 10 games if you play each other twice)?

The 3 six team divisions will be for basketball, baseball, and softball. Volleyball will move to that after this season or the following season due the schedule already being out.

ND could compete in the middle division. Not saying they would win the division, but I believe they could compete night in and night out based upon what they having coming up.

The thing with that bunch at Northwest is basketball is their second sport. The only true basketball kid is the freshman that started this season. They're not running track this year and they're spending alot of time in the weight room. They are definitely putting on some muscle. As for Lintz he says he is not playing basketball at Ironton. Just have to wait and see.

Yeah, in hindsight, that class probably just out-athleted teams in junior high basketball. But still thought they had the talent to at least compete for a SOC II championship by their junior season. Just reaffirms that pee wee/junior high success doesn’t always translate to high school success (whether due to transfers, injuries, or just bad luck).

Regarding Lintz, maybe focusing solely on football at Ironton will be the best move for him. But unless he early-enrolling at college, not sure why he wouldn’t go ahead and play his last year of basketball. Either way, good luck to the kid regardless what he decides.*
