Twin States League

Post by Sportsfan01 »

Marietta 5-1
Warren 4-3
Fort Frye 2-2
Point Pleasant 1-3

Looks like most of the league games will take place after the first of the year. Does anyone know if they are only taking into account league games to determine the league champion?

I believe only games Vs others matter.

I would agree with that, just the games between the four schools.

This is a 2 horse race this year. Warren and Marietta are the 2. Fort is down some, and Point is a wrestling school.

Point has a solid baseball program with some state tournament appearances over that last 10-15 years.

Did the Fort Frye - St. Mary's game happen Tuesday night? If so, results?

No, it was postponed. Not sure of the make up date though.

Fort Frye lost one game by 1 point and another by only 2 points -- could easily be 5-3. Could be a competitive game tonight against Marietta. Interested in other thoughts as the TSL kicks off.

Wouldn’t be surprised by a competitive game tonight, in fact I kind of expect it. I agree, Fort Frye is not as bad as their record and they will be ready to play. County games are always hard fought and this is our first time time playing Fort in a long time (possibly ever?). Hoping for a great atmosphere at Sutton gym tonight.

Warren should be pretty heavy favorites against Point going strictly off the common opponent in Gallia.

You never want to dismiss the possibility of an upset in high school sports -- or at any level for that matter. Having said that, if Marietta is healthy they should be in for a double-digit win tonight. Agree Fort Frye may be better than their 3-5 records suggests, but Marietta may be better than the 6-3 record indicates as well...
